Wendle (wrist) was feeling better Thursday, and the Rays hope he will be able to get back in rehab games soon, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He was still feeling his wrist during a rehab game earlier this week, so he is currently pulled from game action, but it sounds like he could resume his assignment soon. The team says it will monitor how many swings he takes over the next couple days.

Swanson (foot) could be activated during this upcoming road trip if his first few rehab games with Low-A Rome go well, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

He begins his rehab assignment as the designated hitter Thursday for Rome. The Braves have a three-game series against the Mets that ends Sunday, then a makeup game in Colorado on Monday followed by a two-game series in Toronto, so Swanson could be an option in weekly leagues next week.

Tejada was designated for assignment Thursday.

He had zero hits in nine at-bats over six games with the big-league club. The 29-year-old infielder is unlikely to get claimed on waivers.

Volpe was sent to New Jersey to recover from a bout with mononucleosis, Jane Havsy of the Daily Record reports.

Volpe has been sidelined since Aug. 11 and has no announced timeline for his return. The Yankees' 2019 first-round draft pick is slashing .215/.349/.355 with two home runs and six steals through 34 games in rookie ball this year.

General manager Jeff Luhnow said he expects Correa (back) to get three full weeks of MLB games before the postseason begins, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

He will be eligible to return Aug. 30, but Luhnow's timetable suggests he will return around Sept. 8. The Astros purchased the contract of Abraham Toro in an effort to bolster the offense while Correa is on the shelf.

Crawford went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and a run in a loss to the Rays on Wednesday.

Crawford's bat continued its resurgence with his second multi-hit effort of the last three games. The shortstop's pair of extra-base hits Wednesday were his first since Aug. 15, and he's hit safely in seven of his last eight games overall.

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

Anderson extended his hitting streak to eight games, gathering 17 hits in 35 at-bats during the run. For the month of August, he's hit safely in 18 of 20 games to raise his season average to .332, tying him for fourth in MLB among players with at least 375 plate appearances.

Fletcher went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Rangers.

The infielder is thriving in the leadoff spot for the Angels. Fletcher has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, slashing a blistering .386/.438/.523 over that stretch while crossing the plate 12 times. He's made minimal contributions in other fantasy categories (just five homers and eight steals over 122 games on the year), but he could be a valuable source of runs down the stretch.

Diaz (head) took batting practice and fielded grounders Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Diaz was sent to the hospital over the weekend after experiencing dizziness and lightheadedness, though he was quickly released and has since resumed baseball activities. The utility man may go out on a brief minor-league rehab assignment over the weekend; either way, it sounds like he's tracking towards a brief stay on the shelf.

Mondesi (shoulder) is scheduled to play between three and five innings in the field for Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Mondesi kicked off his rehab assignment Tuesday, going 0-for-4 as the DH in what was his first game action since suffering a left shoulder subluxation in mid-July. Assuming everything goes off without a hitch in his return to the field Wednesday, Mondesi will log a similar allotment of time at shortstop Thursday before being reevaluated. The Royals will then decide whether Mondesi will DH again on Friday or receive an off day. The 24-year-old is tracking toward a return from the injured list at the end of August or beginning of September.
