  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Records second homer

Wendle went 1-for-6 with a solo home run in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Wendle's leadoff 399-foot shot to right field turned out to be harbinger of an offensive barrage for the Rays in their 12-run outburst. The versatile veteran has now hit safely in 10 consecutive starts, a stretch during which he's generated a .325/.341/.525 slash line with five doubles, Sunday's homer, six RBI, one walk and six runs.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Blasts grand slam in win

Adames went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and one strikeout in Sunday's win against the Marlins.

The Rays didn't have much trouble driving up the score Sunday, but Adames provided some valuable insurance with his grand slam in the fifth inning. The 24-year-old had been in a bit of a slump recently as he mustered only one hit and one walk with four strikeouts over the past three games. He's struggled with a 32.2 percent strikeout rate this year but is hitting .283 with four home runs and 14 RBI.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Cracks eighth long ball

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a single and a walk in Sunday's 9-5 win over Washington.

Bogaerts gave Boston an early 2-0 lead with his two-run homer off Austin Voth in the first inning. He singled later in the game and is now hitting .302/.364/.569 with eight homers and 22 RBI on the campaign.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Suffers ankle sprain

Fletcher suffered an ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Fletcher exited Sunday's game to begin the fifth inning after tweaking his ankle earlier in the game. Manager Joe Maddon said after the game that the utilityman is day-to-day with a sprained ankle. It's encouraging that Fletcher was able to briefly stay in the game after suffering the injury, but it's unclear whether he'll be ready to take the field for Monday's series finale.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Leaves with apparent ankle injury

Fletcher left Sunday's game against the Mariners with an apparent ankle injury, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fletcher appeared to tweak his ankle while trying to beat out an infield single in the bottom of the third inning, but he remained in the field to begin the fourth frame. However, he was replaced by Luis Rengifo at second base in the fifth. Fletcher had played every inning this season prior to his exit, and it's unclear whether he'll miss additional time.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Demonstrates progress in recovery

Bichette (knee) ran sprints and was able to field ground balls and hit in the cage during his on-field workout Sunday prior to the Blue Jays' game against the Orioles, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The Blue Jays remain reluctant to put a timeline on Bichette's return from the injured list, but with another day of baseball activities under his belt, the young shortstop looks well on his way to being activated at some point in September. Before Toronto pinpoints a target date for his return, Bichette may need to show that he can comfortably run the bases and change direction while fielding. Toronto has leaned on a platoon of Joe Panik and Santiago Espinal at shortstop since Bichette suffered the knee injury Aug. 15.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Produces multi-hit game

Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double in Saturday's loss against the Angels.

The Mariners mustered only seven hits in 31 at-bats against Angels pitching, and Crawford was the only player who notched more than one knock. The slick-fielding shortstop is hitting .256 this season, but he has posted a .347 on-base percentage and is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Returns to lineup

Diaz started at third base and went 0-for-3 in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Athletics.

Diaz was activated off the injured list prior to the doubleheader but did not appear in the afternoon game. With Alex Bregman (hamstring) facing at least another two weeks of downtime, Diaz should get plenty of at-bats as a fill-in at the hot corner. If Diaz's bat is slow to come around, then manager Dusty Baker could use Jack Mayfield, Abraham Toro or Yuli Gurriel.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Collects four hits

Anderson went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one run and one RBI during Saturday's 9-6 loss to the Royals.

The 27-year-old was 3-for-16 with five strikeouts over his past four games, but he busted out with his third four-hit game of the season Saturday. Anderson has a .361/.398/.649 slash line with six homers, eight doubles, 26 runs, 11 RBI and three stolen bases through 23 games.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Strong effort at plate

Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

Bogaerts opened the scoring with his blast off Nationals starter Anibal Sanchez in the first inning. In the sixth, Bogaerts hit a double and later stole third with two outs. The shortstop's well-rounded effort gives him seven homers, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 32 games this season. He's slashing .295/.355/.545 across 124 plate appearances.
