Tai Peete SS | SEA
Mariners' Tai Peete: Flirting with 20/20 season
Peete is slashing .216/.284/.403 with 18 home runs and 25 steals in 121 games for High-A Everett.
Peete, who is playing his first full season in center field, is flirting with a 20/20 season at High-A in his age-19 season (he turned 20 in August). While he has been well below league average (77 wRC+), he has still shown reason to be patient in deeper dynasty leagues. His .283 BABIP is partially to blame for his mediocre slash line, and he encouragingly logged career-high flyball (39.1 percent) and pull (50.2 percent) rates for the AquaSox. Peete will presumably head back to High-A in 2026 with a chance to spend most of the year at Double-A if he can trim this year's 30.9 percent strikeout rate.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Homers in return
Arias started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox.
Arias, who missed four consecutive games with a hand injury, clubbed a home run in his first plate appearance, which kicked off Cleveland's six-run second inning. The homer was the 10th of the season for Arias, who needs one more to establish a new career high in that category. He is expected to remain the primary shortstop for now, but a .202/.250/.374 slash line in the second half may leave his hold on the job shaky.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Clubs 15th long ball
Pena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in an 8-7 win against the Yankees on Wednesday.
Pena pulled the Astros to within two runs with his solo shot in the sixth inning, and he later gave his team another run with an RBI-single in the eighth. Pena has produced six multi-hit performances over his past 12 games, batting .306 with two homers, eight RBI, six runs and three thefts over that span. He's up to an .848 OPS on the campaign, which is on pace to blow away his previous career-best mark of .715.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Rejoining starting nine
Arias (hand) will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Arias will check back into the starting nine after a right hand contusion relegated him to the bench for each of the previous four contests. With Arias back in the fold, Brayan Rocchio will shift over to the keystone and Angel Martinez will move to center field after starting at second base in Tuesday's 11-7 loss.

Chase Meidroth SS | CHW
White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Back in action Wednesday
Meidroth (ankle) will start at second base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game at Minnesota.
Meidroth exited Monday's series opener due to a right ankle sprain and didn't play in Tuesday's 12-3 win, but he's ready to go after a one-day absence. The rookie infielder has mostly struggled in the second half but has gone 5-for-15 with one home run and one stolen base over his last four contests.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Receiving rare day off Wednesday
Henderson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
In what appears to be a routine rest for a day game after a night game, Henderson will exit the Baltimore lineup for just the third time since the beginning of July. With Henderson receiving a breather, the Orioles will turn over shortstop to Luis Vazquez in the series finale.

Franklin Arias SS | BOS
Red Sox's Franklin Arias: Bumped up to Double-A
Arias went 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored in his Double-A Portland debut Tuesday after being promoted from High-A Greenville.
He didn't hit for much power at High-A (.115 ISO), but Arias wasn't getting challenged as a hitter. His 8.9 percent strikeout rate and 0.91 BB/K were top-five marks among all qualified hitters at High-A. The righty-hitting Arias won't turn 20 years old until November, so any late-season struggles at Portland shouldn't be held against him. Public scouting reports are more bullish on Arias' shortstop defense this season than a year ago, and if he can stick at the position, it would put less pressure on him to tap into notable power.
-
Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Plates three Tuesday
Rocchio went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.
Rocchio capped off a six-run sixth inning for the Guardians with a three-run blast off Garrett Crochet to put Cleveland ahead. Rocchio's now plated five runs over his last two games and has 11 RBI and three homers over his last 16. Rocchio's blast put him at 39 RBI for the season, surpassing his 2024 total in 53 fewer games.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Expected back Wednesday
Arias (hand) is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday's series finale versus the Red Sox, MLB.com reports.
The Guardians had expected Arias to play in Tuesday's 11-7 loss, but the infielder missed a fourth consecutive game. Brayan Rocchio started at shortstop in each of the last four contests while Arias was out.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Unclear timeline
Walls (groin) will see a specialist Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
Walls has been sidelined since Aug. 12 and had recently begun running and strength exercises. However, he felt discomfort and will now seek additional medical evaluation. The results should provide clarity on whether Walls can return this season, though he doesn't appear to be close to activation.
