The rookie right-hander set a new Blue Jays record by notching nine punchouts in his MLB debut. Yesavage featured a three-pitch mix anchored by a four-seam fastball that averaged 94.6 mph. The East Carolina product generated an astounding 19 whiffs out of his 69 total pitches, living up to the hype generated by his 41.4 percent K-rate in 98 minor-league innings across four stops. The only blemish on Yesavage's line was scored via a Yandy Diaz RBI double in the first. Given the positives from this performance, the 22-year-old is likely to stick in the Toronto rotation and could line up to pitch this weekend at Kansas City.

Taillon (10-6) allowed two hits and two walks over six scoreless frames to pick up the win Monday at Pittsburgh. He struck out three.

The veteran right-hander showed no issues handling the league's lowest scoring lineup in this 88-pitch performance. Taillon conceded just one extra-base hit -- a Spencer Horwitz two-bagger in the sixth -- as the Pirates never came close to sniffing a run. Through 116.2 total innings, Taillon has pitched to a 3.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 86:25 K:BB. The 33-year-old is currently scheduled to make his next start on the road at Cincinnati this weekend.

Parker (8-16) suffered the loss Monday against Atlanta, coughing up six runs on 10 hits and one walk over five innings with one strikeout.

The Washington southpaw turned in his third appearance allowing double-digit hits this season while conceding six or more runs for the sixth time. Parker's tough campaign has been downright brutal since the All-Star break, as he's produced a 7.19 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 35:17 K:BB across 56.1 innings in the second half. Through 158.1 total frames, the 25-year-old now sports an unsightly 5.85 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 5.7 K/9. Parker is currently scheduled to next take the mound on the road against the Mets this weekend.

Strider (6-13) earned the win Monday at Washington, yielding one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

The Atlanta right-hander looked sharp in this 96-pitch outing, generating a solid 15 whiffs. Strider notched his first win since July 27 and pocketed his second consecutive quality start. The only blemish on his line was a solo homer conceded to Daylen Lile in the second. In 114.1 total innings, Strider has pitched to a 4.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 120:46 K:BB. He will look to continue his recent success in his next matchup, which currently lines up to come at Detroit this weekend.

Sheehan is slated to work in a bulk relief role in Monday's game against the Phillies, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Left-hander Anthony Banda will serve as the Dodgers' opener before handing things off to the right-handed Sheehan. Each of Sheehan's last six appearances have been traditional starts, and he's coming off one of his best outings of the season, having held the Rockies to one run while fanning nine over seven frames.

Burke will pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Tyler Gilbert in Monday's game against the Orioles, Jack Antony of SI.com reports.

The White Sox called up Burke from Triple-A Charlotte last week to fill the opening in the rotation, and the right-hander served as a traditional starter in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Rays. He took a no-decision in that outing, striking out five while allowing three earned runs on five hits -- including two home runs -- and four walks over 4.1 innings. Since Gilbert is unlikely to cover more than an inning or two before exiting the contest, Burke should have a good chance at matching the workload he handled in his previous appearance as a starter, and he could deliver better results since he'll likely be facing the bottom of the Baltimore lineup when he enters the contest.

Francis (shoulder) threw a live batting practice session at the Blue Jays' spring training complex Monday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Francis touched 93 miles per hour with his fastball during the session and will face hitters again Friday and he continues to get built back up. He's been sidelined mid-June with a right shoulder impingement, and while a return before the end of the season seems unlikely, Francis will hope to get some peace of mind health-wise heading into the offseason.

Kremer (forearm) is slated to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox in Chicago, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Though he didn't require a stint on the injured list after departing his Sept. 5 start against the Dodgers due to forearm discomfort, Kremer had one turn in the rotation skipped and ended up missing a week and a half of action due to the injury. Fortunately, Kremer seems to have checked out fine following a bullpen session Friday, leaving the Orioles optimistic that he'll be ready to handle something close to a normal workload Tuesday. Prior to sustaining the injury, Kremer had posted a 4.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB in 50 innings over his nine starts since the All-Star break.

The Orioles recalled McDermott from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

McDermott had been unscored upon in 11 of his last 13 appearances at Norfolk after being moved to the bullpen in late July. The 27-year-old holds a 7.71 ERA in two starts and one relief appearance during his time in the big leagues.

The Blue Jays selected Yesavage's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

Yesavage is set to make his major-league debut Monday with a start on the road against the Rays. The 22-year-old had pitched out of the bullpen in two of his last three appearances with Buffalo, so while he's being used as a starter Monday, he could be in line for a relatively abbreviated outing. Yesavage has posted a 3.12 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 160:41 K:BB in 98 innings across his four minor-league stops in 2025.
