Woodruff (elbow/ankle/shoulder) struck out one and allowed four earned runs on four hits and three walks across 3.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Nashville.

Though his results were less-than-stellar in what was his 10th rehab start overall, Woodruff more importantly emerged from Sunday's outing healthy while also tossing 82 pitches (53 strikes). The right-hander sported an average fastball velocity of 93 miles per hour -- just under two ticks behind his average from his last healthy season in 2023 -- and topped out at 95.4 mph. Assuming he feels fine physically coming out of his next bullpen session, Woodruff is expected to return from the 60-day injured list to make a start next weekend in Miami in what will be his first appearance for the Brewers since Sept. 23, 2023. He didn't pitch at any level in 2024 while recovering from his October 2023 right shoulder capsule surgery and had his rehab assignment sidetracked by a bout with right ankle tendinitis in May and a right elbow contusion earlier this month, but Woodruff was effective on the whole in his 10 starts between Nashville and High-A Wisconsin, logging a 2.79 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB in 42 innings. Though expectations should be tempered for Woodruff as he makes his way back from a lengthy stay on the IL, he'll at least make for a worthwhile speculative pickup in shallow or mid-sized leagues where he might still be available on the waiver wire.

Oviedo (lat) was sent to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday to begin a rehab assignment.

Oviedo missed the entire 2024 season following Tommy John surgery and then suffered a right lat strain during spring training. Given how long it has been since he's pitched in games, Oviedo is likely to use all of the 30 allotted days during his rehab assignment before the Pirates activate him from the 60-day injured list. The 27-year-old has minor-league options remaining, so he could stick around at Triple-A Indianapolis rather than rejoining the big club if the Pirates decide he's not ready to contribute at the major-league level once his rehab window closes.

Matthews (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session at Target Field on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Matthews has been on the shelf since June 8 due to a moderate subscapularis strain in his right shoulder. He'll likely need to complete at least a couple more bullpen sessions before advancing to facing hitters in live batting practice and then heading out on a rehab assignment. Matthews could be ready to return from the injured list shortly after the All-Star break.

Skubal (10-2) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out 13 over seven shutout innings to earn the win Sunday over the Twins.

Skubal had one of his best starts of the year -- this was second only to his two-hit shutout versus the Guardians on May 25. He also matched his season-high 13 strikeouts from that outing. Skubal has kept runs off the board in seven of his 17 starts this season, and he went a perfect 5-0 with seven runs allowed over 33.1 innings in June. For the season, he has a 2.15 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 138:14 K:BB across 109 innings, numbers even better than his Cy Young campaign from 2024. The superstar southpaw is lined up for a road start in Cleveland in his next outing.

Paddack (3-7) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Tigers.

Paddack was decent compared to recent outings, but he still gave up some loud contact, as four of the six hits he allowed went for extra bases. The first two runs came on solo shots by Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene, and Paddack's start came to an end after Carpenter's RBI triple in the fifth. Paddack has allowed 21 runs (19 earned) over his last 18.2 innings, which simply isn't good enough. His ERA is up to 4.70 with a 1.23 WHIP and 63:24 K:BB over 90 innings across 17 starts. That's already his most innings in any seasons since 2021, so it's possible the right-hander may be struggling with a heavier workload after multiple years in a row impacted by injuries. His next start is projected to come at home versus the Rays.

Rodriguez allowed a run on four hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins on Sunday.

Rodriguez threw 108 pitches (63 strikes) in the outing, but the Diamondbacks' bullpen cost him his chance at a second consecutive win. After returning from a shoulder injury, Rodriguez was sharp in June, allowing seven runs (six earned) over 27.2 innings while adding a 28:9 K:BB in that span. It's a significant improvement from where he was at before the injury -- his early struggles are still evident in his season-long numbers, as he has a 5.13 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 80:27 K:BB over 72 innings across 14 starts. The southpaw is set for a home start versus the Royals next week.

Quantrill allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Quantrill had a decent outing, throwing 54 of 87 pitches for strikes, but the Marlins' run support didn't show up until the eighth inning. He has gone seven starts without a win, allowing 16 runs (15 earned) over 32 innings in that span. Quantrill hasn't found much opportunity to pitch deep into games, and that will make wins tough to come by. He's at a 5.42 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 56:22 K:BB through 73 innings over 16 starts. His next outing is projected to be at home versus the Brewers.

Tidwell is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Brewers at Citi Field.

Tidwell will take over the rotation spot vacated by Griffin Canning, who ruptured his Achilles tendon Thursday and is set to miss the remainder of the season. After he was called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Tidwell was put to work out of the bullpen later that night in the Mets' 9-1 loss to the Pirates, covering 3.1 innings and allowing four earned runs. He'll be ready to go Wednesday on the standard four days' rest, but Tidwell's body of work over a small sample of action in the big leagues won't inspire much confidence in his fantasy prospects. Through three appearances (two starts) with New York this season, Tidwell has turned in a 10.13 ERA, 2.44 WHIP and 7:8 K:BB over 10.2 innings. He'll likely be headed back to Syracuse as soon as Sean Manaea (elbow) is cleared to return from the 60-day injured list.

Kochanowicz allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over four-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals on Sunday.

Kochanowicz was pulled at 63 pitches (37 strikes) after running into trouble in the fourth and fifth innings. Interim manager Ray Montgomery has shown no hesitation to pull starters if they begin to fade in the middle innings -- since he took over managerial duties June 20 due to Ron Washington's health-related absence, only three of nine starting pitchers have exceeded 90 pitches. That shortens an already limited runway for Kochanowicz, who pitched into the sixth inning just once in six June starts. He allowed 18 runs over 25.2 innings while adding a 21:11 K:BB this month, so his outings are likely to continue being short unless he turns a corner with his performance. Overall, he has a 5.44 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 61:40 K:BB through 86 innings over 17 starts this season. Kochanowicz's next start is expected to be in Toronto.

Montas (0-1) yielded six runs on seven hits and a walk over four innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against Pittsburgh.

Montas stumbled out of the gate Sunday, coughing up five runs in the first inning, all with two outs. He gave up back-to-back homers to Oneil Cruz and Tommy Pham during that frame. Montas allowed another run in the second before ending his outing with two scoreless frames. On the bright side, he racked up 17 whiffs on 86 total pitches, including six with his splitter and five with his fastball, which averaged 95 mph. Montas is lined up for a home matchup against his former team, the Yankees, next weekend.
