  • Noah Davis SP | PIT

Rockies' Noah Davis: Impressive in first start

Davis allowed three hits and three walks over five shutout innings during Sunday's loss to Seattle. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Davis sprinkled three walks and three singles throughout his first career MLB start. He forced inning-ending double plays in the third and fourth frames to escape danger. The 25-year-old righty had just six strikeouts in 12.2 Triple-A innings before Sunday's outing. With German Marquez (forearm) on the injured list, Davis will likely stick around for another start, which is projected to be in Philadelphia next week.

  • Luis Castillo SP | CHW

Mariners' Luis Castillo: Fires seven shutout innings

Castillo (2-0) allowed two hits over seven scoreless frames Sunday, striking out nine and earning a win over Colorado.

Castillo completely dominated the Rockies on Sunday. He carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before giving up a pair of singles. His nine punchouts and 19 whiffs were both his best marks of the season. Castillo is now sporting a stellar 0.73 ERA and 26:4 K:BB through four outings. He's projected to face the Cardinals at home next week.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Sunday's game postponed

Webb and the Giants won't play Sunday against the Tigers after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Webb was slated to make his fourth start of the season Sunday, but the game was called off following a five-hour delay. The Giants haven't revealed their updated pitching plans for their three-game series in Miami early next week, but Webb did some throwing work in the outfield Sunday, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him pitch against the Marlins at some point.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Guardians' Shane Bieber: Allows three runs in no-decision

Bieber did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk over six innings against the Nationals. He struck out four.

Bieber struggled a bit early, allowing a run in each of the first three innings. He then settled in, blanking the Nationals over his final three frames, though he had to settle for a no-decision when Washington scored twice on Nick Sandlin in the eighth, and the game ultimately ended in a 7-6 Cleveland loss. Overall, Bieber has been solid through his first four starts this season, pitching to a 2.88 ERA in 25 innings with a 1.12 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB.

  • Matthew Boyd SP | CHC

Tigers' Matthew Boyd: Sunday's game called off

Boyd and the Tigers won't play Sunday against the Giants after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Following a lengthy rain delay, Sunday's matchup was officially called off five hours after the scheduled first pitch. Boyd played catch after the game was officially postponed, but the Tigers haven't yet revealed their updated pitching plans for the upcoming series against the Guardians.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Logs quality start

Corbin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits and zero walks over six innings against the Guardians. He struck out four.

All of the damage against Corbin came in the fourth inning. He allowed three doubles in the frame, and the Guardians took advantage of two National errors to score four runs, though just two were charged to Corbin. He was spared another loss, however, when Washington rallied to take a 7-6 lead in the eighth inning. The 33-year-old Corbin is 1-2 through 20 innings this season with a 6.30 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP.

  • Pablo Lopez SP | MIN

Twins' Pablo Lopez: Takes hard-luck loss

Lopez (1-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against the Yankees. He struck out seven.

Lopez pitched well Sunday, logging his third straight quality start while scattering seven hits. However, DJ LeMahieu's two RBI were enough to hand Lopez the loss, as the Twins' offense couldn't solve a dominant Gerrit Cole. Overall, Lopez has pitched quite well in his first four starts with Minnesota, recording a 1.73 ERA with a 33:6 K:BB through 26 innings.

  • Max Fried SP | NYY

Braves' Max Fried: Rejoining rotation Monday

Manager Brian Snitker said Fried (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Monday against the Padres, Kelly Crull of Bally Sports South reports.

The left-hander has been on the shelf since he suffered the hamstring strain during his Opening Day start, and he'll rejoin Atlanta's rotation Monday without making any rehab outings. Given the lack of buildup since suffering the injury, Fried may face some workload limitations in his first couple starts back from the injured list.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Shuts down Minnesota

Cole (4-0) earned the win Sunday, throwing a complete-game shutout, allowing two hits and one walk over nine innings against the Twins. He struck out 10.

Cole was dominant Sunday, allowing just two hits (both singles) and one walk while punching out 10. Cole has won his first four starts of the season and lowered his ERA to 0.95 through a league-leading 28.1 innings. He's recorded a 32:8 K:BB with a stellar 0.74 WHIP.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

Yankees' Luis Severino: Throws another bullpen session

Severino (lat) completed a bullpen session Sunday with no issues, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Severino recently progressed to mound work and has now thrown three bullpen sessions in the past week. The right-hander should soon progress to facing live hitters, which should be his final step before heading out on a rehab assignment.
