The Orioles recalled Young from High-A Aberdeen to start Saturday's game against the Reds.

Young has made three starts this season for Triple-A Norfolk, turning in a 2.76 ERA and 0.93 WHIP alongside a 17:2 K:BB across 16.1 innings. His start Saturday will mark his major-league debut, and a strong outing could buy him another turn through the rotation before Kyle Gibson's projected return to the majors at the start of May. Scott Blewett was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

The Marlins selected Monteverde's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Monteverde has appeared in three games for Jacksonville this season, giving up five earned runs while striking out six batters and walking four across 9.1 innings. The 27-year-old southpaw will now join the big-league roster to replace George Soriano and provide Miami with a fresh bullpen arm capable of pitching multiple innings. Monteverde's first appearance with the Marlins will be his MLB debut.

Anderson (2-0) picked up the win Friday, scattering three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory over the Giants. He struck out six.

Logan Webb was the more dominant pitcher on the night, fanning 12 Angels in his six frames, but Anderson kept the opposition off balance over his 96 pitches (64 strikes) and didn't allow a runner to get past second base. The veteran lefty will take a stingy 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB through 21.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Pirates.

Webb (2-1) took the loss Friday as the Giants were blanked 2-0 by the Angels, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings. He struck out 12 without walking a batter.

A rare Matt Chapman error at third base contributed to a two-run second inning for the Halos, and that was all the offense either pitching staff allowed. Webb's dozen strikeouts were his highest total since his first start of the 2023 campaign, but he's already recorded double-digit Ks in two of his first five outings this season after failing to do so at all over 33 trips to the mound in 2024. The 28-year-old righty will take a 2.40 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 38:7 K:BB through 30 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Brewers.

Hart (2-1) took the loss Friday, giving up five runs on 10 hits over five-plus innings as the Padres were downed 6-4 by the Astros. He struck out two without walking a batter.

Rookie Cam Smith did the heavy lifting for Houston, crushing a three-run shot off Hart in the second inning and then dropping a solo shot into the Crawford Boxes in the fourth. It was a tough reality check for the 32-year-old southpaw, who had blanked the feeble Rockies over six one-hit innings in his last start. Hart will take a 6.48 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB through 16.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in Detroit.

Mlodzinski (1-3) took the loss Friday as the Pirates fell 10-7 to the Guardians, coughing up five runs on nine hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

Four of the hits off the 26-year-old righty went for extra bases, including a Bo Naylor solo shot in the third inning -- the first long ball Mlodzinski has served up in four big-league starts this season. While he's been able to keep the ball in the park, not much else has gone right for Mlodzinski, who carries a 7.41 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB through 17 innings. With Bubba Chandler dominating at Triple-A (1.69 ERA, 18:5 K:BB over 10.2 innings), Mlodzinski's time in the rotation could be drawing short. He'll look to rebound in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week against the Angels.

Ortiz (2-2) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings in a 10-7 victory over the Pirates. He struck out eight.

Facing the club he debuted with in 2022, Ortiz fired 59 of 92 pitches for strikes, including 28 called or swinging strikes, and got plenty of run support from his new teammates. After a bumpy first outing for the Guardians, Ortiz has posted a 3.24 ERA and 21:5 K:BB over his last three starts and 16.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next week against the Yankees.

Ginn (1-1) took the loss versus the Brewers on Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over 4.2 innings.

Ginn's second start of the season didn't go as well as his first, though he showed some strikeout upside again. The Brewers got to him for two runs in the third inning and tacked another onto his line in the fifth after he exited for reliever Jacob Lopez. Ginn has allowed four runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out 13 over 10 innings across his two starts. If he stays in the rotation, he's tentatively scheduled for a tough home start versus the Rangers next week.

Darvish (elbow) is expected to throw a higher-intensity bullpen session this weekend, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Though Darvish has been throwing off the bullpen mound recently, Acee compared those sessions to "glorified games of catch" due to their low intensity. However, the veteran hurler is expected to throw at closer to full intensity this weekend, which should give San Diego a better indication of how far away he is from a return. Acee suggests that Darvish will likely need at least three or four bullpen sessions before he's able to face live hitters and adds that the right-hander probably won't be ready to pitch in big-league games until late May or early June.

Peralta (2-1) allowed seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Athletics.

Peralta has allowed no more than two runs in any of his five starts so far this season. He threw 55 of 93 pitches for strikes in this contest and came away with his second, both of which have come over the last three starts. He's now at a 1.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB across 28.1 innings. Peralta's next start is expected to be on the road versus the Giants.
