Ray (8-2) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Guardians.

Gabriel Arias' solo home run in the sixth inning ended up being the deciding run. Ray had produced eight straight quality starts between April 26 and June 5, and he was back at that level Tuesday after a four-inning effort in Colorado last week. Ray continues to successfully overcome a fairly high walk rate (3.6 BB/9), as he has a 2.68 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 97:35 K:BB over 87.1 innings through 15 starts. His next outing is projected to be at home versus the Red Sox this weekend.

Peterson did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's loss against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three over seven-plus innings.

Peterson gave up one run through seven frames and came out for the eighth inning. He put two runners on base without recording an out and was charged with both runs after Marcell Ozuna's three-run double. Peterson has given up three or fewer runs in seven straight outings, turning in six quality starts during that stretch. His 2.23 ERA over that seven-start span has lowered his season mark to 2.60 across 86.2 frames. Peterson's next outing is lined up to be in Philadelphia this weekend.

Schwellenbach did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's win over the Mets. He allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight across seven innings.

Schwellenbach didn't have his best stuff Tuesday and gave up more than three earned runs for just the fourth time in 15 outings this season. He was taken deep by Juan Soto and Tyrone Taylor in the first and fifth frames, respectively, and Taylor also added a two-run double. Schwellenbach has struck out at least eight batters in four of his last five starts and now owns a 92:16 K:BB through 96.2 innings this season. He racked up a career-high 22 whiffs Tuesday, with seven coming via the fastball. Schwellenbach will carry a 3.26 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in Miami this weekend.

Pfaadt didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Toronto, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out three.

Pfaadt has distanced himself from a brutal two-start stretch he endured as the calendar flipped from May to June in which he allowed 14 earned runs in three-plus innings. He's surrendered just four runs in 10 innings over two starts since then to get back on track. The 26-year-old has a 5.38 ERA on the year, but he's got a much more palatable 3.86 ERA outside of the two bad outings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is slated to come at Coors Field this weekend.

Abbott didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing five runs (one earned) on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

A two-out throwing error by Christian Encarnacion-Strand prior to an RBI single and a three-run home run saved Abbott's ERA from jumping up. Regardless, it was a rough outing for Abbott, whose eight hits allowed marked a season worst. The lefty has yielded one or fewer earned runs in eight of his last nine outings, posting a stellar 1.35 ERA and a 49:12 K:BB across 53.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Marlins will recall Mazur from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Mazur made eight starts with the Padres last season, turning in a 7.49 ERA across 33.2 innings before being dealt to Miami in the trade that sent Tanner Scott to San Diego. Mazur has shown improvement at Triple-A Jacksonville this year to the tune of a 3.62 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 59.2 frames, and he'll now get another opportunity to prove himself in the big leagues. Whether he sticks around in the Marlins' rotation will likely depend on his performance Wednesday and the health of Max Meyer (hip).

Glasnow (shoulder) threw two innings and about 40 pitches in a live batting practice session Tuesday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Glasnow has been battling right shoulder inflammation since late April, and he's slowly been making progress in the last couple weeks. The right-hander looked "really good" in the BP session according to manager Dave Roberts, and a minor-league rehab assignment could come in the near future.

The Mets placed Megill on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow sprain.

A sprained elbow indicates Megill is dealing with damage to his UCL, but the pitcher said Tuesday that he just has inflammation and no structural damage, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Megill will be shut down for at least 7-to-10 days before ramping back up. The Mets are due to get Frankie Montas (lat) and Sean Manaea (oblique) back soon, but they will need someone else to fill in for Megill later this week in Philadelphia.

The Cardinals activated Hence (ribs) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and transferred him from Triple-A Memphis to Double-A Springfield.

Hence got a late start to the season due to a right rib cage strain, but he's made five rehab starts, allowing two runs with a 10:7 K:BB over 10.2 innings. The top prospect will now join the rotation at Springfield, where he held a 2.71 ERA and 109:26 K:BB over 79.2 frames in 2024.

Meyer (hip) was spotted playing catch Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

While Meyer is throwing again, the Marlins haven't indicated when he might be ready to return from the 15-day injured list as he continues to recover from a left hip impingement. A clearer timeline for Meyer's return could come into focus once he reaches the point in his rehab where he's facing hitters in live batting practice.
