Wright (3-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Thursday, tossing seven innings during which he allowed one run on three hits and four walks while striking out eight.

Wright continued his upstart campaign with his third quality start, each of which has resulted in a win. The right-hander notched 11 swinging strikes, didn't allow any extra-base hits and finished with eight punchouts. Wright has been so good this season that his ERA actually increased (to 1.13) with the superb performance, as he entered the contest having allowed only two earned runs across his first 17 frames. He has looked like an emerging ace so far in 2022 and will look to keep rolling when he takes on the Mets in New York in his next scheduled start.

Gomber (1-2) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out six across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Phillies.

Gomber allowed a run in each of the second, third and fourth frames, though he retired six of the final seven batters he faced to turn in a quality start. He also surrendered only one extra-base hit, a solo home run by Alec Bohm. After two poor starts to begin the campaign, Gomber has allowed only two earned runs across his last two outings -- both on the road -- spanning 12 innings. He's posted an impressive 14:1 K:BB in that same stretch, but he's currently projected to pitch at Coors Field in his next turn through the rotation in a matchup against Washington.

Smyly (1-2) allowed two runs on five hits across 4.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against Atlanta. He walked one and struck out four.

Two solo home runs accounted for all the offense against Smyly as he fell to the team he played for last season. The lefty is now sitting at 1-2 but has pitched well with a 2.79 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across his first four starts. Smyly isn't a huge strikeout guy, with 13 so far across 19.1 innings, but he'll have some fantasy value as long as he keeps his ERA and WHIP down. The veteran lines up to face the White Sox on Wednesday in his next scheduled start.

Wheeler (1-3) allowed one hit and four walks while striking out seven across six scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Rockies.

Wheeler soothed some early season concern with an outing that was reminiscent of his excellent 2021 campaign. The only hit he surrendered was a leadoff triple to Sam Hilliard in the third inning, but Wheeler managed to work out of the jam. The only downside to Wheeler's start was that he issued four free passes, though he still threw 62 of his 90 pitches for strikes and began 15 of the 22 batters he faced with a strike. Through 18.2 innings, Wheeler owns a bloated 5.79 ERA but Thursday's start was a step forward.

Corbin (0-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out eight across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Marlins.

Corbin turned in his longest outing of the season and picked up an impressive 14 swinging strikes on 90 pitches. He allowed only one unearned run through six innings, but he came out to begin the seventh frame and both runners he faced reached base and ultimately came around to score. Despite the positive start, Corbin has now walked multiple batters in every appearance this season and has a 23:13 K:BB across 19.2 innings to go along with an 8.69 ERA.

Miley (elbow) will throw again at some point this weekend, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Miley threw 46 pitches in a live batting practice session Wednesday, and it appears that he is feeling well one day after. After his weekend session, the team will move forward with the next step in his progression, which could be another live BP or even a minor-league rehab assignment.

Mahle (1-3) took the loss to the Padres on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Mahle allowed a first-inning run but was able to settle down and scattered two hits across the next four innings. However, he surrendered a leadoff double to Manny Machado in the sixth and was taken out after walking Eric Hosmer. Both runners came around to score as the Padres notched a four-run sixth inning to reclaim the lead. After tossing five scoreless in his first outing, Mahle has allowed multiple runs in four consecutive outings and has taken the loss in each of his last three starts.

Quintana allowed one run on four hits across five innings and didn't factor in the decision during Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Brewers. He had nine strikeouts and zero walks

Quintana allowed a leadoff home run to Andrew McCutchen, but the veteran lefty settled down and tossed five strong innings, including a season-high nine strikeouts. Across his first four starts with Pittsburgh, Quintana has a 3.32 ERA and 17:8 K:BB across 19 frames. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in Detroit.

Peralta tossed six scoreless innings on three hits and zero walks during Thursday's 3-2 win over the Pirates. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

After a bumpy start to the campaign, Peralta has allowed just six hits and one run over his last 11 innings. He currently sports a 5.00 ERA and a 23:8 K:BB across 18 total innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday against the Reds.

Flaherty (shoulder) advanced to throwing off flat ground from 240 feet Wednesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Since he was cleared to begin a throwing program about two weeks ago, Flaherty hasn't hit any snags in his recovery from right shoulder inflammation. Although he's playing long toss, the right-hander isn't expected to resume throwing off a mound until after the first week in May, per John Denton of MLB.com. Since he was sidelined for all of spring training, Flaherty may need another month to fully build up for starting duty before he makes his return from the 10-day injured list.
