Gomber (5-7) allowed one run on six hits, a walk and a hit batsman with three strikeouts over six innings, earning the win Tuesday over the Padres.

Gomber was able to limit the damage to a Ha-Seong Kim RBI double in the second inning. The Rockies went ahead on a three-run home run by Charlie Blackmon in the sixth, allowing Gomber to grab his second win in his last three starts since returning to the rotation. This was up there with the best of the southpaw's outings this season, but he still owns a 6.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 62:24 K:BB across 84 innings in 17 games (15 starts) overall. It's unclear if Gomber will get another turn in the rotation prior to the All-Star break -- Antonio Senzatela (shoulder) could return for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Liberatore allowed three runs on four hits in 2.1 innings during Tuesday's 7-6 victory over the Dodgers. He failed to record a strikeout and did not issue a walk.

Liberatore was tabbed as the bulk reliever for Tuesday's contest and ended up making his first relief appearance as the third of seven St. Louis pitchers. The 22-year-old entered in the fourth and navigated a 1-2-3 frame but surrendered two runs on three hits in the fifth and another run in the sixth when the St. Louis bullpen let an inherited runner score. Liberatore's ERA and WHIP rose to 5.33 and 1.74, respectively, with the poor performance, and he's most likely to appear in relief if he's used again prior to the All-Star break.

Strider allowed a run on five hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out eight in 4.2 innings in a 4-1 win Tuesday over the Mets. He did not factor into the decision.

Strider held the Mets scoreless through the first four innings but ran into trouble in the fifth. With two outs, he gave up a run-scoring triple to Francisco Lindor and issued an intentional walk to Pete Alonso before being removed, having thrown 103 pitches. Over his last four starts including Tuesday, the 23-year-old has fanned 38 batters in 23.1 innings and allowed just two runs on 13 hits.

Peterson (5-2) took the loss Tuesday in Atlanta, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out nine in 5.1 innings.

Peterson cruised through the first five innings, holding Atlanta scoreless and allowing just a hit and two walks. After striking out Ronald Acuna to begin the sixth, he issued a walk and gave up a two-run homer to Matt Olson and was removed from the game. Over his last two starts, the lefty has fanned 16 and walked eight in nine innings of work. If Peterson starts again before the All-Star break, it would be Sunday against the Cubs.

Cavalli left his start for Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday with an apparent arm injury, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Cavalli called for the training staff after throwing a pitch during the fourth inning, and it looks to be an arm issue since he was walking around the mound normally. The 23-year-old didn't pitch for Rochester during the second half of June after experiencing some arm soreness, and it's possible the issue cropped up again Tuesday.

Gray won't start as scheduled Tuesday versus the Mariners since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The contest will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, and Gray should start one of those games. The postponement likely means it will be his final appearance prior to the All-Star break.

Heaney (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Heaney threw a live bullpen session Tuesday, clearing the way for him to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. The left-hander is expected to cover 3-to-4 innings Saturday, and it remains to be seen if he'll require another rehab start before rejoining the big-league club. Manager Dave Roberts said Heaney could be limited to about 75 pitches per start upon his return, though it's unclear whether that would be a temporary measure.

Soroka (Achilles/knee) threw a bullpen session Monday with no apparent issues, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The right-hander's rehab from Achilles surgery has been stalled over the past week after he was struck in the knee by a comebacker during live batting practice, so it's a good sign he's back on the mound. Soroka will likely need to return to throwing live BP before being cleared for a rehab assignment, which will be lengthy given he hasn't seen MLB action since 2020.

Manager David Bell said Tuesday that he expects Mahle (shoulder) to return from the 15-day injured list to make a start during one of the Reds' first three games out of the All-Star break, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Mahle was placed on the 15-day injured list July 6 with a right shoulder strain, but he looks as though he'll spend close to the minimum amount of time on the shelf. The right-hander was able to do some throwing Tuesday after taking the past five days off to rest, and Cincinnati's coaching and training staffs apparently both came away encouraged by how he looked. Mahle will continue to steadily ramp up the intensity of his throwing before he's penciled in for a start against the Cardinals during Cincinnati's first series of the second half.

Gibson (personal) was placed on the restricted list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Blue Jays.

The veteran right-hander is unable to enter Canada for the two-game series due to his vaccination status. Gibson last pitched Saturday against the Cardinals, so the move to the restricted list won't affect his turn through the rotation. He tentatively lines up to pitch Friday in Miami.
