Davies (oblique) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday before the Diamondbacks determine whether he'll be activated or make another rehab start, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Davies struck out seven over 4.2 scoreless innings for Double-A Amarillo over the weekend. Assuming he comes out of Wednesday's bullpen session with no issues, he would appear likely to rejoin Arizona's rotation as soon as this weekend.

Rea will start for the Brewers in Tuesday's game against the Astros, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Rea was recalled from Triple-A Nashville over the weekend and was initially expected to operate as a long-relief option, but he'll be thrust back into the rotation after Eric Lauer (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday. In seven appearances (six starts) with the big club this season, Rea has gone 0-3 with a 5.52 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 31 frames.

Anderson is slated to start Monday's game against the Marlins at Coors Field.

After being poached off waivers from the Rays on May 12, Anderson moved into the Colorado rotation a few days later and provided a big lift for a shorthanded pitching staff. He took a no-decision in his team debut but did his part to keep the Rockies competitive with the Reds, working five scoreless frames and striking out three while allowing only two baserunners. Anderson will get the chance to build on that performance while he kicks off what will likely be a two-start week; his second turn is expected to come Saturday versus the Mets, also at Coors Field.

Grove (groin) tossed 4.1 innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters.

Grove gave up a pair of solo homers in the outing but otherwise pitched very well. This was his first appearance in a game since he tossed three innings for the big-league Dodgers against the Cubs on April 20. It's not yet certain if the organization plans to have Grove make multiple rehab appearances or if he'll be called up to the majors for his next start. The right-hander tossed 64 pitches Sunday, so he's not quite ready for a full workload, but the Dodgers suddenly find themselves in need of starting pitching with Julio Urias (hamstring) and Dustin May (forearm) recently moved to the injured list. Rookies Gavin Stone and Bobby Miller are starting the first two games of the team's current series in Atlanta.

Milwaukee placed Lauer on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

If there's good news here, it's that the injury is to Lauer's non-throwing shoulder. Still, it's unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined, and the Brewers' rotation depth had already been hit hard by injuries. Lauer had been slated to start Thursday against the Giants, but Milwaukee will have to find someone else to take the ball that day.

Overton will undergo right elbow surgery Tuesday after encountering a recent setback, Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The exact nature of the operation isn't clear, but it is expected to end his season. Overton has been sidelined since mid-April with what had been called a right elbow strain. He also missed most of last season with a back injury.

Fried (forearm) is close to resuming throwing, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

O'Brien adds of Fried that "it seems realistic to expect him back sometime around the All-Star break," although that's certainly a rough timetable for now. The left-hander landed on the injured list two weeks ago with a strained left forearm and recently was cleared to resume lifting weights. He'll need to go through a full throwing progression and undoubtedly will require a rehab assignment before rejoining Atlanta's rotation.

Lively is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Cardinals at Great American Ball Park.

Lively will make his second straight turn through the rotation after he excelled this past Friday in his first MLB start since 2018. In the Reds' 6-2 loss to the Yankees, Lively struck out eight over 5.2 innings while allowing just two runs on two hits and one walk. He stretched out to 85 pitches in that outing, so he should face few restrictions with his workload -- if any -- when he makes his second straight turn through the Cincinnati rotation.

Verlander (2-2) allowed one run on three hits over eight frames, striking out five and earning a win over the Guardians in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

Verlander bounced back from his last ugly outing with a stellar performance Sunday. He coughed up a solo shot to Jose Ramirez in the first inning and was nearly untouchable the rest of the way. Verlander retired 10 straight batters on two occasions, including the final 10 he faced. He's now sporting a 3.60 ERA through 25 innings in his first four starts of the year. Verlander's next start is lined up to be in Colorado.

Luzardo (3-3) allowed six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over five-plus innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Giants.

Luzardo allowed four runs through five frames, then gave up a double and an RBI single to begin the sixth, and Andrew Nardi allowed the inherited runner to score. The six runs allowed were a season high for Luzardo, and he allowed multiple home runs for the second time in 10 starts. He has a 3.83 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 63:18 K:BB through 56.1 innings overall. He'll look to get back on track versus the Angels in his next start.
