Corbin (4-5) picked up the win Friday despite coughing up six runs on seven hits and four walks over 6.1 innings in a wild 12-10 victory over the Royals. He struck out six.

The veteran lefty was down 3-1 after five innings, and after the Nationals erupted for eight runs in the top of the sixth, Corbin did his best to give it all back in the bottom of the seventh. He exited after 108 pitches (66 strikes) -- the first time this season he's seen a triple-digit pitch count -- and he'll carry a 4.88 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB through 62.2 innings into his next start, likely to come on the road next week against the Dodgers.

Shuster didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

The rookie southpaw was headed toward his second straight win when he exited the game after 89 pitches (57 strikes), but the Atlanta bullpen couldn't make the lead hold up. Shuster has delivered three straight solid outings since rejoining the rotation in mid-May, posting a 3.78 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 16.2 innings, and he figures to build on those numbers in his next outing, likely to come next week in Oakland.

Walker (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's 6-4 victory over Atlanta, giving up three runs on 10 hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out one.

It was far from a dominant performance for the veteran right-hander, who generated only five swinging strikes among his 85 pitches, but Walker kept the damage to a minimum and got some late run support before leaving the mound. The quality start was his fifth in 11 outings this season, but he's still digging his way from under a rough stretch in late April and early May. Walker will take a 5.57 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 43:23 K:BB through 53.1 innings into his next start, likely to come on the road next week against one of his former clubs, the Mets.

Syndergaard (1-4) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings in a 9-3 loss to Tampa Bay. He struck out three.

After allowing at least one run in each of the first four innings, Syndergaard was able to settle down and toss two scoreless frames before being replaced. Friday's outing marked the third time the veteran has given up at least six runs this season, and his 6.27 ERA across 10 starts isn't pretty. Syndergaard isn't the strikeout pitcher he was early in his career anymore, and now, he's struggling to keep runs off the board, making him a less-than-ideal fantasy option moving forward. The right-hander figures to get a few more chances in the Dodgers' rotation to turn things around while Julio Urias (hamstring), Michael Grove (groin), Ryan Pepiot (oblique), Dustin May (forearm) and Walker Buehler (elbow) all remain on the injured list.

The Diamondbacks will activate Davies (oblique) from the 15-day injured list and have him start Saturday against Boston, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Davies will return one day after rookie Brandon Pfaadt yielded five runs over 3.2 innings to bring his ERA up to 8.37. Pfaadt's poor form since getting called up from Triple-A Reno may make any looming rotation decision an easy one for manager Torey Lovullo. Arizona could also remove Tommy Henry or Ryne Nelson from the rotation if the team wants to give Pfaadt one last chance to right the ship. Davies will be making his first start in the majors since April 8, but he looked sharp in his lone rehab start with Double-A Amarillo on May 20, as he struck out seven over 4.2 scoreless frames.

Luzardo (4-3) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk over five innings against the Angels. He struck out seven.

Luzardo had a nice rebound game after coughing up six runs in five innings May 21 against the Giants. The southpaw is currently on pace to pitch the most innings of his career -- he's already thrown 61.1 innings in 2023, and his career high is 100.1. Luzardo is tentatively slated to face the Padres at home in his next appearance.

Seabold (1-2) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out two.

Seabold continues his struggles, as he's now allowed 12 earned runs over his last 12.2 innings pitched. The right-hander also hasn't tossed more than five innings in a start all year. The 27-year-old is tentatively slated to face Arizona at home in his next start.

Keller (6-1) picked up the win Friday over the Mariners, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over six-plus innings.

Keller versus George Kirby looked like a pitchers' duel on paper, but it ended up being a slugfest in practice. Keller was taken deep twice in his worst start since Opening Day, but he was still the better of the two starters. He's rarely one to give up many homers, having allowed just seven across 11 starts this season. The rough outing raised Keller's ERA to 3.01 with a 1.02 WHIP and 85:16 K:BB through 68.2 innings. He'll look to put this one behind him next week in San Francisco.

Pfaadt (0-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and struck out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Red Sox.

There's only one silver lining here -- Pfaadt didn't walk a batter for the first time in five starts. The Red Sox got to him for three runs in the second inning, and Enrique Hernandez added a two-run home run in the fourth. Pfaadt has given up five or more runs in three of his outings, and this was his shortest start yet. The 24-year-old right-hander is now at an 8.37 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB through 23.2 innings. Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic suggests this could put Pfaadt's spot in the rotation in jeopardy, and that makes sense with Zach Davies (oblique) nearing a return. If Pfaadt gets another start, it would likely come at home versus the Rockies next week.

Liberatore (1-1) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two across five innings Friday in a 4-3 loss to the Guardians.

Liberatore faced little trouble through four scoreless innings before the Guardians broke through with a four-run fifth. His ERA jumped to 4.91 through three big-league appearances (two starts) this season. As of now, it's unclear if Liberatore will get another start or move into the bullpen. The Cardinals have just five games during the upcoming week, and the young southpaw would seem to be the most likely candidate in the rotation to miss a start. He posted an 11.0 K/9 with Triple-A Memphis but has struck out just nine batters in 11 MLB innings since his promotion.
