Darvish allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Darvish put the Padres in a position to win, but the bullpen melted down over the final two frames to squander his quality start. He's posted four quality starts in five outings since the All-Star break, with the lone exception a seven-run disaster versus the Pirates on July 24. Darvish is now at a 4.41 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 121:38 K:BB through 114.1 innings over 20 starts this season. He's projected for a road start in Seattle next week.

Miller allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.

Miller needed 82 pitches (49 strikes) to get 11 outs in an inefficient start. The right-hander has given up nine runs (eight earned) over 19.1 innings across his four appearances since the All-Star break. He's at a 4.26 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB through 63.1 innings across 12 starts overall. Miller is projected for a tough road start in Arizona next week, and he may be at risk of losing his place in the rotation if the Dodgers opt to put Ryan Yarbrough in his place in the coming weeks.

Priester yielded three runs on five hits and three walks over four-plus innings in Friday's win over Milwaukee. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Priester coughed up a pair of runs in the first inning but otherwise held the Brewers in check until Carlos Santana led off the fifth with a solo shot. Friday's start was Priester's shortest but it was also his first time allowing fewer than four runs. The right-handed rookie has registered an 8.69 ERA with a 16:14 K:BB through four career starts. Priester is currently lined up to face Atlanta at home next week.

Wainwright (3-6) allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over three innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Rockies.

That wouldn't have been an unusual stat line in Colorado, but Friday's game was in St. Louis. Wainwright has yielded 13 runs over 14 innings while losing two of his three starts since he returned from a shoulder injury. The 41-year-old has a 7.81 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 39:26 K:BB through 65.2 innings (14 starts) overall. The Cardinals are out of contention, so there's little chance they humiliate a franchise legend by removing him from the rotation over the last two months of the season. Wainwright is projected for a road start in Kansas City next week.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over 6.1 innings against the Reds. He struck out two.

While it goes down as a quality start for Corbin, he had more homers allowed than strikeouts, so it wasn't exactly an impressive performance. It could have been a lot worse -- all three homers were solo shots, and Corbin left the game in line for his 12th loss of the campaign before the Nationals rallied to take him off the hook. The left-hander has been one of the worst regular starters in baseball for several years now and nothing in his underlying stats points to significant improvement ahead.

Flexen (1-5) allowed three runs on 10 hits and struck out two without walking a batter over five innings Friday, earning the win over the Cardinals.

Flexen gave up solo home runs to Nolan Arenado and Nolan Gorman, but he was able to work himself out of some other jams in his first win of the season. The right-hander has been tagged for four homers over 8.2 innings in his two starts with the Rockies, but he did display better control Friday. Flexen has a 7.82 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 35:25 K:BB through 50.2 innings this season between Colorado and Seattle. He's tentatively lined up for a road start in Milwaukee next week.

Rea (5-5) yielded six runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Pirates.

All six runs against Rea came in the first two innings of Friday's ugly start. He's coughed up 11 runs in his last two appearances, raising his season ERA from 4.53 to 5.11 in the process. In six outings since the start of July, Rea has posted a 6.32 ERA while allowing nine home runs. He may get shifted to a bullpen role with Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) expected to return to the rotation Sunday.

Ashcraft did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over eight innings in the Reds' 6-3 loss to Washington. He struck out five.

The right-hander allowed just one run through seven innings and was a pitch away from escaping the eighth with a 3-1 lead, but Joey Meneses smashed a two-run homer to tie the game on Ashcraft's 100th pitch of the night. It was still another positive outing overall for Ashcraft, who has delivered six quality starts in his last seven turns to bring his ERA down to 5.18 for the season.

Stripling will start Saturday's game against the Athletics, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Stripling worked behind an opener his last time out and posted respectable numbers, but he will move back into a traditional starting role Saturday. He had been building up in the rotation in the weeks following his return from a back injury, tossing quality starts over six innings in his July 19 and 24 appearances. The right-hander has a 3.71 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 19:1 K:BB in 26.2 innings since being activated from the injured list in early July.

Wesneski allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one over three innings in Friday's 8-0 loss to Atlanta.

Wesneski mopped up after starter Kyle Hendricks allowed seven runs over four innings. The Cubs became buyers at the deadline, which leaves Wesneski on the outside looking in at a rotation spot, at least for the time being. He threw 50 pitches Friday, with the lone blemish being a homer allowed to Austin Riley in the seventh inning.
