Williams did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against Oakland. He struck out four.

The A's got to Williams early Sunday with three runs on a pair of first-inning homers. However, the 31-year-old right-hander was ultimately spared the loss when the Nats rallied for six runs in the ninth to win 8-7. Still, it's been a struggle for Williams of late. He's allowed six home runs over his previous two starts while pitching to a 9.47 ERA in his last four outings. Overall, he's 5-7 with a 5.20 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 90:40 K:BB across 24 starts (117.2 innings this season). Williams will try to right the ship in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home matchup with the Phillies.

Cabrera has looked good in two starts for Triple-A Jacksonville since his demotion, allowing just two earned runs over 12 innings with a 13:3 K:BB, Jordan McPherson of The Miami Herald reports.

Both runs came on solo homers, but the Marlins are more concerned with Cabrera simply getting the ball into the strike zone consistently, trusting that the movement on his plus stuff will take care of the rest. "You watch him, [but] you don't watch the results," manager Skip Schumaker said Saturday before the right-hander's most recent outing, in which he struck out 10 over six scoreless innings against Norfolk. "When you're watching him, he's commanding all of his pitches again, which is what we're looking for. Hopefully he continues to do that. If he continues to do that and knock the door down, he'll come back up." Cabrera is eligible to return to the big-league roster as soon as Wednesday, and with Eury Perez struggling to last five innings since rejoining the Miami rotation, the two young hurlers could switch places for this weekend's road series against the Dodgers.

Atlanta optioned Winans to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

After striking out nine over seven scoreless innings in a spot start during Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets, Winans will head back to the minors for the time being. With Yonny Chirinos struggling as the No. 5 arm in the Atlanta rotation, Winans could easily get another shot with the big club soon. Because he was brought up as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader, Winans doesn't have to spend 15 days in the minors before being recalled.

Peralta (9-8) threw six shutout innings against the White Sox on Sunday to earn the win. He allowed four hits while walking three batters and striking out six.

Peralta is on a torrid four-game stretch at the moment. Since July 26, he is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB in 25 innings while throwing four quality starts. He also recorded 64 whiffs over that span which is the most in all of baseball. When Peralta is at his best, he can be downright elite and has the potential to be a league winner down the stretch, but he'll have his work cut out for him when he faces the Rangers on the road his next time out.

Williamson yielded one run on two hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in a Game 1 loss to the Pirates during Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Williamson allowed a leadoff single to Ke'Bryan Hayes before retiring 12 straight batters. The Pirates then broke through with a run in the fifth inning. Williamson has given up just two runs while registering a 15:2 K:BB over his last two outings. His season ERA dropped to 4.33 with a 70:31 K:BB through 81 innings. Williamson's next outing is projected to be at home against the Blue Jays.

Keller allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over six innings in a Game 1 victory during Sunday's doubleheader against the Reds. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Keller gave up one run in the fourth and fifth innings during his first quality start since July 8. He coughed up eight homers in his five previous outings since July 8, resulting in a brutal 9.11 ERA. Keller lowered his season ERA to 4.27 with a 161:46 K:BB across 149.2 innings. His next start is lined up to be in Minnesota.

Lively (pectoral) allowed six runs on six hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning in a rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Lively began a rehab assignment and was pulled after just 32 pitches. The right-hander had been scheduled to throw 85 pitches, per Annie Sabo of Bally Sports Cincinnati. Prior to the start, there was talk of Lively coming back to the Reds following Sunday's outing, but the short pitch count (and results) likely extends his time away from the majors.

Webb pitched 8.2 innings and was charged with a run on six hits and a walk Sunday against the Rangers. He struck out six and was not involved in the decision.

Webb had the complete game shutout at his fingertips, but manager Gabe Kapler decided to remove him in favor of Camilo Doval after Webb allowed a two-out double to J.P. Martinez. The next batter, Ezequiel Duran, managed to beat out a grounder to shortstop, which scored Martinez to send the game to an extra inning. Webb, who has already pitched one complete-game shutout this season, fell just short of another but has tossed at least seven innings in five of his last seven starts. He has been far and away the Giants' best pitcher, though he sits at an undeserving 9-9 record. The 26-year-old boasts a 3.26 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 157:26 K:BB in 163 innings and lines up for a daunting road matchup with Atlanta his next time out.

Davies (back) will make a rehab start for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Davies will be making his second rehab start after throwing 4.1 innings last Thursday for the Aces. It looks like the Diamondbacks may get creative with the rotation until Davies is ready to return. The club cut the cord on rookie right-hander Ryne Nelson, who was optioned back to Reno as part of a roster shakeup Sunday. That essentially leaves them with three starters -- Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly (leg) and Brandon Pfaadt. "Ryne did a good job in some of his games," Arizona general manager Mike Hazen said. "It just was wildly inconsistent for us. We ended up using a lot of bullpen in those days, anyway. The decision was, if we're using a lot of bullpen in those days, anyway, looking at it just as a traditional starter situation wasn't the right way we should be looking at it." Bryce Jarvis, a starter throughout his career, was called up Sunday and will pitch out of the bullpen. Slade Cecconi is up with the team and made one start and one relief appearance. Arizona also has Tyler Gilbert for multiple innings.

Suarez (2-6) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks over 6.1 innings against the Twins. He struck out eight.

Suarez has allowed just five runs over his last three starts (16.1 innings) though he's still yet to earn a win since June 27, as the Phillies offense couldn't provide any run support in a 3-0 loss. The 27-year-old Suarez now sports a 3.88 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP and 89:35 K:BB across 17 starts (97.1 innings) this season. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend in Washington.
