Flexen did not factor into the decision Friday, surrendering four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in the Rockies' 13-9 loss to the Blue Jays.

Flexen struggled to keep the ball in the yard, allowing three homers -- most notably a two-run shot by Danny Jansen with one out in the top of the sixth inning. The right-hander nearly reached six innings for the third time in four starts. Since the beginning of August, Flexen has posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 24 strikeouts over 32.2 innings in six starts,

Keller did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over six innings while striking out eight batters in the Pirates' 4-2 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Keller tossed five scoreless frames before Willson Contreras took him deep for a solo shot to open the bottom of the sixth inning, providing the only blemish on the right-hander's line. The 27-year-old has now recorded four straight quality starts, producing a 1.38 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 33 strikeouts over 26 inning during that stretch. Keller's season-long ERA now sits at 3.93 over 169.2 frames in 28 outings.

Hudson did not factor into the decision Friday, tossing seven innings and giving up one run on three hits and two walks in the Cardinals' 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Hudson gave up an RBI double to Alfonso Rivas in the top of the second inning, but he went unscathed the rest of the way. The right-hander matched his longest outing of the season at seven frames and he has recorded three quality starts over his last six outings. Hudson owns a respectable 4.02 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 33 strikeouts over 56 innings in 13 starts this season.

Wheeler did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out 10 batters in the Phillies' 7-5 loss to the Brewers.

Wheeler tossed three scoreless frames to open his outing before Willy Adames took him deep for a three-run shot in the bottom of the fourth, accounting for all the damage against him. The right-hander has now reached 10 punchouts in back-to-back starts and he has allowed three or fewer runs in nine of his last 10 outings. Overall on the season, Wheeler owns a 3.62 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 185 strikeouts over 164 innings in 27 starts.

Peralta did not factor into the decision Friday, surrendering one run on two hits while striking out 10 batters over six innings in the Brewers' 7-5 win over the Phillies.

Outside of a leadoff homer by Kyle Schwarber in the top of the first inning, Peralta was brilliant. The right-hander recorded at least 10 punchouts for the fourth time over his last seven outings, posting a 1.71 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 42 innings in those starts. Peralta's season-long numbers now sit at a 3.85 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 187 strikeouts over 145 frames in 26 outings.

Gomber (back) won't pitch as scheduled Sunday against the Blue Jays, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Gomber will have his upcoming turn in the rotation skipped after he recently received an injection to address the back soreness he dealt with during his most recent start Monday against Atlanta. Fortunately for Gomber, the Rockies believe he'll avoid a trip to the 15-day injured list and could be ready to go the next time his turn in the rotation comes up. He'll tentatively line up for a return to the bump during next weekend's series in San Francisco.

Rea will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Saturday's game against the Phillies, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers optioned Rea to Nashville on Aug. 5, where he has since given up five runs over 11 innings across two starts while striking out 12 batters and walking one. Rea has a 7.30 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 24.2 innings in his last five major-league starts prior to being demoted and will be facing a Phillies offense that ranks sixth in baseball with a .768 OPS on the season.

The Dodgers recalled Sheehan from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Sheehan holds a 5.63 ERA and 1.28 WHIP through 38.1 innings with the Dodgers this season, and he will come up from the minors to presumably round out Los Angeles' rotation. Despite his inflated stats, Sheehan looked sharp in his last two MLB appearances, surrendering just two runs in nine innings while striking out eight batters and walking two.

Ashcraft was dealing with a sore toe during his start Friday against the Cubs, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Ashcraft gave up three runs during the first game of Friday's doubleheader and left after five innings to get an MRI. He should be considered day-to-day until the results of that testing is made available.

Richardson was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

With Ben Lively -- who was originally scheduled to start the second game of Friday's doubleheader -- landing on the COVID-19 IL, Richardson will come up from Louisville to pitch in his place. The 23-year-old righty has surrendered seven runs in 7.1 innings through two starts in the majors this season.
