deGrom surrendered a pair of solo homers but was otherwise dominant, racking up 21 whiffs on 90 pitches. The 36-year-old has won three straight contests while yielding two earned runs or fewer in each of his past five starts. Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Improves in fourth rehab start
Rogers (knee) made his fourth minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings.
Saturday was an improvement for Rogers, who had given up nine runs over the first 7.2 innings during his rehab assignment. The left-hander continues to work his way back from a right knee subluxation, and he's now built up to the 70-pitch mark. Rogers figures to be ready to return before the end of May following another rehab appearance or two, although it's unclear if he'll join the major-league roster at that point or be optioned to the minors.

Tigers' Jack Flaherty: Allows four homers in loss
Flaherty (1-5) took the loss against the Rangers on Saturday, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over three innings.
Flaherty endured his worst outing of the season and was pulled after throwing just 73 pitches. The 29-year-old has yielded four or more earned runs in each of his past three outings and has not recorded a win since April 4. He owns a 4.61 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB across 41 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Blue Jays next weekend.

Taj Bradley SP | MIN
Rays' Taj Bradley: Logs quality start in no-decision
Bradley did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Brewers, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings.
Bradley battled through a rain delay and worked around a pair of solo homers to earn his third quality start in his past four outings. The 24-year-old generated 11 whiffs on 84 pitches and has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in six of eight starts this season. He'll carry a 4.24 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB across 46.2 innings into a favorable matchup with the Marlins next weekend.

Royals' Cole Ragans: Punches out eight in loss

Ragans gave up one run through the first four innings, but he was tagged for three more in the fifth on three consecutive RBI singles. He generated 14 whiffs on 95 pitches (65 strikes), and while he's recorded at least eight strikeouts in six of eight starts this season, he has also yielded at least four earned runs in three of his last four outings. Ragans has a 4.20 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 40.2 innings, and his 65 strikeouts is tied with Garrett Crochet for second most in the American League behind Carlos Rodon (67). Walker Buehler SP | SD
Red Sox's Walker Buehler: Aiming to return for NYM series
Manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Buehler (shoulder) will likely return during the Red Sox's home series against the Mets that begins May 19, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Buehler continues to rehab from right shoulder inflammation, which prompted his placement on the 15-day injured list May 2. With a timeline established for the 30-year-old's return, Hunter Dobbins -- who tossed six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday -- will likely have one more start in the Red Sox's rotation next week. Buehler went 4-1 in six starts before landing on the IL, posting a 4.28 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 33.2 innings.

Hayden Wesneski RP | HOU
Astros' Hayden Wesneski: Swelling still an issue
Wesneski underwent an MRI on Saturday that showed inflammation in his elbow, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Wesneski was placed on the injured list Friday due to the inflammation, but the team is waiting for the swelling to subside to make an official diagnosis. Manager Joe Espada said he expects it will be a few more days before that occurs, so the right-hander remains without a clear return timeline.

Casey Mize SP | DET
Tigers' Casey Mize: Dealing with hamstring strain
Mize was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a left hamstring strain, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Mize will hit the shelf just two days after a dominant outing against the Rockies in which he allowed one earned run while striking out eight across six innings. According to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Mize felt a sensation in his left hamstring late in the outing that was originally attributed to dehydration, but follow-up tests revealed what the Tigers are calling a "mild" strain. The Tigers haven't announced an immediate replacement in the rotation for Mize, though Keider Montero will likely be called up from Triple-A Toledo to replace him when a fifth starter is needed.

Hunter Brown SP | HOU
Astros' Hunter Brown: Nine strikeouts in sixth win
Brown (6-1) earned the win Friday in a 3-0 win over the Reds, pitching 5.2 shutout innings while giving up two hits and four walks and striking out nine batters.
Although he fell just one out short of collecting his eighth consecutive quality start to begin the season, Brown still put on a brilliant performance Friday. He reached nine strikeouts for the fourth time in a row and allowed the Reds to put a runner in scoring position only twice. With five consecutive wins and a sparkling 1.48 ERA, Brown has plenty of momentum behind him heading into his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come against the Royals on Wednesday.
