Astros SP Lance McCullers dazzles in no-decision on Saturday
Astros rookie starter Lance McCullers was excellent on Saturday against the Twins. The young right-hander allowed just one run on three hits over seven solid innings. He walked two and struck out eight, but was left with a no-decision in the eventual 3-2 loss.
McCullers didn't allow a hit until a lead-off double in the sixth inning. That runner would eventually come around to score for the only damage done against the 21-year-old.
After Saturday's fine performance, McCuller's ERA sits at 3.07, as he has allowed a total of six earned runs over his last three starts since returning from the minor leagues.

Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi picks up first loss since June
Nathan Eovaldi has been a pleasant surprise for the Yankees in their chase for the division title, but Saturday, the starter had his first stumble since June, dropping a decision to the Rays.

Eovaldi (14-3) had one nine straight decisions since a June 16 defeat at the hands of the Marlins. He still leads in the AL in win percentage.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman to make final rehab start Monday
If all goes well, Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman is expected to make his final rehab start Monday, reports MLB.com. Stroman is recovering from knee surgery, which has sidelined him all season.
"Just a lot of hard work, motivation and faith, that's basically all it took," said Stroman, who went 11-6 with a 3.65 ERA in 26 games last year. "Two-a-days six days a week for four months straight will do the job. A lot went into it, a lot of pain, but we're in the position that we sought to be, and it's exciting."

Indians stating that SP Corey Kluber will pitch again in 2015
The Indians are not taking a pessimistic view of the hamstring injury that has sidelined ace Corey Kluber. They are claiming that Kluber will pitch again this season despite reports that he could be out for the year, according to Associated Press.
Kluber injured his hamstring running in the outfield during the team's series in Toronto earlier in the week. He is expected to be sidelined for 10 days.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Hamstring injury could end season for Indians SP Corey Kluber
Indians ace and reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber could lose the rest of the season to a hamstring injury, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has reported.
Kluber, who was scheduled to start Friday night in Detroit, sustained the injury while running in the outfield during the just-completed series in Toronto. He will miss at least one week, but could be done for the year.
The right-hander has been a victim of poor run support in 2015, but has also been a bit more inconsistent than he was in his breakthrough 2014 campaign. If he is indeed finished, he will end the year with an 8-13 record and a 3.41 ERA that is nearly a point higher than what he registered last season.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians targeting a return next week for SP Carlos Carrasco
Indians starter Carlos Carrasco is slated to throw a bullpen session Friday in Detroit. He has been on the disabled list with an ailing shoulder, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
If all goes well, he could be activated to start at some point next week against the White Sox.
Carrasco was arguably the team's hottest pitcher before going down. He had five consecutive quality starts during which he allowed only six runs in 39 2/3 innings. He has 173 strikeouts in 158 innings on the year.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd can't get through the second, gets lit up Thursday
Tigers starter Matt Boyd turned in another poor outing on Thursday, as he was unable to record an out in the second inning before leaving the game. Boyd allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks, en route to the 15-7 thrashing by the Royals.
Boyd was staked to a 3-0 lead before he even took the mound. But he allowed two runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the second, with the big blow being a three-run homer by Lorezno Cain. The Tigers managed to rally back to tie the game, taking Boyd off the hook.
Boyd, whose ERA rose to 8.36 following Thursday's performance, has allowed at least five runs in three of his six starts with the Tigers since coming over in a trade from the Blue Jays.
