  • Athletics' Henderson Alvarez: Likely to come off DL by the weekend

Alvarez (shoulder) is on track to make a start during next weekend's four-game series with the Yankees, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.

Alvarez is making his fourth rehab start at Triple-A Nashville, which may be the final tune-up he needs before getting activated from the DL. The 26-year-old missed just about the entire 2015 campaign after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder, but assuming he's able to regain some of his premium velocity, he could develop into a useful cog at the back end of the A's rotation. However, he's never been a big strikeout guy, as he tends to rely on inducing weak contact against opponents.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Next rehab start to come at Double-A level

Darvish will make his next rehab start with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

He'll be held to a limit of five innings or 75 pitches during the rehab start, his fourth thus far. Assuming all goes well in the outing, Darvish will likely make one more start in the minors where he'll throw close to 100 pitches before being activated from the DL.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Takes loss despite solid start Saturday

Kluber (2-5) surrendered seven hits, four earned runs and three walks over 6.2 innings in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Twins. He struck out seven.

Kluber had some trouble with his control, throwing only 66 of his 110 pitches for strikes. He also issued multiple walks for the third straight start, and has now given up nine earned runs over the last nine innings across the two starts, following a complete-game gem against the Tigers on May 4. The recent struggles have the 30-year-old's ERA back up to 4.30, while his record continues to drift further away from the .500 mark.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Will stick at Triple-A for another start

Rodriguez (knee) will make another rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

The Red Sox are no longer harboring any concerns about Rodriguez's health after he covered 100 pitches in Saturday's start, but the team wants to see better performances from him before bringing him back in the big league rotation. Over four starts with Pawtucket, Rodriguez has supplied a 4.29 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB across 21 innings.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Set for another bullpen session Monday

Gibson (shoulder) will throw a 45-pitch bullpen session Monday, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Gibson has previously thrown two bullpen sessions without incident, so if his third one goes swimmingly, he'll likely be on track to throw live batting practice Thursday. After that, Gibson would require a rehab assignment in the minors before getting activated from the DL.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Reaches 100-pitch mark

Rodriguez threw 100 pitches in his fourth rehabilitation start Saturday for Triple-A Pawtucket, Sox Prospects reports. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out three in 5.2 innings.

Rodriguez's overall command was good -- 71 of his 100 pitches were strikes -- and reaching 100 pitches is a milestone. However, the left-hander's fastball velocity remained off, according to Ian Cundall of Sox Prospects, sitting in the 90-92 mph range. Other than the velocity, Rodriguez has done all he needs to be activated. We'll wait on word from manager John Farrell in the coming days. One thing to keep in mind is that Boston has a couple of off days in the next week and can get by with four starters. It's quite possible Farrell can kick a decision down the road a bit and give Rodriguez another rehab start.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

White Sox's Jose Quintana: Takes tough-luck loss Saturday versus Yankees

Quintana (5-2) (finger) surrendered five hits, two earned runs and two walks over seven innings in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees. He struck out five.

The crafty southpaw got into some early trouble, allowing an RBI double to Aaron Hicks and RBI single to Didi Gregorius. However, he was sharp otherwise, throwing 70 of 100 pitches for strikes, and recording first-pitch strikes on 20 of 27 batters. He completed seven innings for the third straight start, and is still sporting a stellar 1.54 ERA. Quintana has certainly pitched well enough to win every start this season, and has notably received only three total runs of support over his two defeats.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Rangers' Martin Perez: Takes third loss of season despite solid outing Friday

Perez (1-3) surrendered five hits, two runs (one earned) and three walks over 6.1 innings in a 5-0 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday. He struck out three.

The 25-year-old was a tough-luck loser Friday, as his teammates were completely neutralized by R.A. Dickey's knuckler through eight frames. It was Perez's fourth straight strong start, but he's now received exactly one run of support over his three losses, with the last two coming when the Rangers have been blanked. His subpar 1-3 record belies the solid work he's turned in to date in 2016, as his 3.23 ERA is more than respectable.

  • Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Done in by long ball in Friday loss

Odorizzi (0-2) surrendered seven hits - including three home runs - five earned runs and a walk over four innings in Friday's 6-3 loss to the A's. He struck out two.

The hard-throwing righty simply couldn't keep the ball in the park, giving up two home runs in the opening frame. Down 4-0 after just one inning as a result of the long ball, he evened things out a bit over the next three innings, but had an early exit after throwing 97 pitches overall during his four innings on the mound. The 26-year-old was coming off consecutive quality starts and had surrendered just three homers in his first seven starts combined prior to Friday, so the outing could simply be an outlier. He'll try to right the ship against the Blue Jays at the dangerous Rogers Centre next Wednesday.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Athletics' Rich Hill: Notches another quality start in Friday victory over Rays

Hill (5-3) surrendered four hits, three earned runs and four walks over six innings in Friday's 6-3 victory over the Rays. He struck out seven.

The veteran notched his fifth quality start of the year. Hill's control is the main factor in preventing him from being even better overall, as he's issued multiple walks in three straight starts. He's only surrendered eight hits over that 17.2-inning span otherwise, and just a pair of gopher balls on the season. He's also struck out an impressive 53 in 43.2 innings.
