The Rangers transferred Arihara (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Arihara will be on the mend for at least three months after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder last week, so his move to the 60-day IL won't have any bearing on his recovery timetable. The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Jason Martin, who was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said Wednesday that he's hopeful Gonzales (forearm) will be able to return from the 10-day injured list when his next turn through the rotation comes up June 1 versus the Athletics, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Seattle has mostly kept its six-man rotation intact since Gonzales strained his forearm during an April 27 start, relying mostly on bullpen days for the lefty's turns through the rotation due to the lack of healthy starting options available on the 40-man roster. Gonzales, meanwhile, has made solid progress in his rehab program of late, most recently throwing an extended simulated game. Servais doesn't believe that Gonzales will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated, and the southpaw isn't expected to require any major restrictions with his workload once he's deemed ready to go.

The Orioles optioned Kremer to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Kremer heads back to the minors one day after he was roughed up by the Twins for five runs on six hits and three walks over four innings to drop to 0-5 on the season. The Orioles haven't named an immediate replacement in the rotation for Kremer, but long reliever Keegan Akin would appear to be the most logical option to fill the opening.

Cleveland plans to recall McKenzie from Triple-A Columbus to start Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

McKenzie was optioned to Columbus last weekend after he was lit up for 11 earned runs in 7.2 innings across his last two outings. Cleveland ideally would have wanted McKenzie to find some success at Triple-A before bringing him back, but the 23-year-old will be summoned to the majors sooner than anticipated after Zach Plesac (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. According to Bell, McKenzie will be optioned to Triple-A following Wednesday's start, but he could still return to Cleveland early next week. The Indians have a doubleheader against the White Sox on Monday, and McKenzie could be designated as the 27th man for the twin bill if the team wants him to start one of the two contests.

The Yankees are sending Kluber in for an MRI on Wednesday strictly as a precaution after he was diagnosed with right shoulder tightness following his start in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

The club is apparently confident that Kluber isn't dealing with any structural damage to his shoulder or a strain, so the MRI will ideally confirm the Yankees' medical staff's initial findings. Kluber appeared to downplay the injury himself when he spoke to reporters after Tuesday's game, mentioning that the issue isn't similar to the teres muscle tear in his shoulder that sidelined him for the majority of the 2020 campaign. Even so, Kluber should be considered questionable at best to make his next turn through the rotation, which comes Sunday in Detroit. The two-time Cy Young Award winner dropped to 4-3 after being tagged for two runs while striking out five over three innings in Tuesday's start, his first since tossing his first career no-hitter May 19 in Texas.

Odorizzi (forearm) threw 77 pitches across 4.2 scoreless innings for Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

This was Odorizzi's second rehab outing, and he appears to be nearing a return to the majors, although manager Dusty Baker did not know if another rehab start is needed. The right-hander has been sidelined since April 26 with a right pronator muscle strain.

Hill (3-2) took the loss Tuesday as the Rays were downed 2-1 by the Royals, giving up two runs on six hits over eight innings. He struck out a season-high 13 without walking a batter.

It's the second time this year the veteran southpaw has fanned double-digit batters, and Hill fired 74 of 99 pitches for strikes in an impressive outing marred by a lack of run support. He'll take a 3.63 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 58:17 K:BB through 52 innings into his next start.

Keller (4-4) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks over seven innings in a 2-1 victory over the Rays. He struck out seven.

The right-hander put together his longest start of the year, and only his third quality start in 10 trips to the mound. Keller appears to have turned a corner after his rough beginning to the campaign, as he boasts a 3.48 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 31:12 K:BB through 33.2 innings over his last six outings.

Heaney (2-3) earned the win over Texas on Tuesday, hurling 5.2 innings and allowing three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five.

It wasn't an especially impressive outing for the southpaw -- he threw only 66 of 105 pitches for strikes and issued a season-high four walks -- but he stuck around long enough to earn his first victory since April 9. Heaney did induce 16 swinging strikes in the contest despite finishing with a modest five strikeouts. Heaney has struggled with a 7.71 ERA and 1.79 WHIP over his past three contests, so he'll certainly take this win despite the mediocre showing. His next start is tentatively projected to come at San Francisco early next week.

Greinke (4-2) suffered the loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings.

The right-hander faced off against the team with whom he pitched from 2013 to 2015 and was tagged for his second loss of the campaign. Greinke got through the first three innings unscathed before serving up a two-run homer to Justin Turner in the fourth frame. He yielded another pair of runs in the sixth as a result of two walks and two singles. Greinke has managed a 3.97 ERA this season and has posted a 53:14 K:BB across 65.2 innings. His next start is expected to come against Boston early next week.
