McKenzie didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Tigers, giving up only one hit over five scoreless innings. He struck out five while walking three.

The 23-year-old's brief demotion seemed to light a fire under McKenzie and he returned to deliver his best start of the season, although facing the Detroit offense didn't hurt either. He still only tossed 44 of 73 pitches for strikes, and he's issued at least three free passes in seven straight outings, so the issues that originally cost him his rotation spot haven't gone away. With Zach Plesac (thumb) potentially out of action for a month or more, however, Cleveland has few other options. McKenzie will carry a 5.94 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 49:33 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next start, expected to come in a twin bill against the White Sox on Monday.

Kaprielian (2-0) earned the win Wednesday against the Mariners after tossing seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks while fanning four.

The rookie right-hander continues to impress and while the sample size is small, he's looked outstanding through his first three appearances. Wednesday's outing might have been his best outing so far, though, as he clinched his first quality start at the MLB level and improved his ERA to 1.53 across 17.2 innings. Kaprielian's next start is scheduled for next week against the Mariners on the road.

Dunning (2-4) allowed seven runs over four-plus innings to pick up the loss to the Angels on Wednesday. He gave up seven hits and three walks while striking out four.

Dunning's first-inning issues reared itself once again, as the Angels plated five in the opening frame. The right-hander's given up 14 runs over 10 first innings (12.60 ERA). He's not putting himself in position to pitch deep into games; this was the seventh time in 10 starts he's thrown five or fewer innings. Dunning's spot in the rotation is next due Monday on the road in Colorado.

Urquidy (shoulder) threw 3.2 scoreless innings in a rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Wednesday, Steve Schaeffer of the Houston Chronicle reports. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three.

Urquidy has been on the injured list since May 13, but he may only need one rehab start, according to Houston general manager James Click. If the Astros' decision makers determine Wednesday's outing is enough for Urquidy, who threw 63 pitches (39 strikes), then the right-hander could rejoin the team for next week's series against the Red Sox, beginning Monday.

Garcia (3-3) earned the win over the Dodgers on Wednesday, pitching six innings and allowing one unearned run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven.

The right-hander kept the National League's top-scoring team almost entirely at bay, allowing only an unearned run -- caused in part by his own error -- in the third inning. Garcia didn't allow any extra-base hits and issued just one free pass over his seven superb frames. He has yet to allow more than three runs in any appearance this season, helping him log a solid 2.93 overall ERA. Garcia will look to extend his current personal three-game win streak in his next start, which is expected to come against Boston early next week.

Rodon (5-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals after recording 10 strikeouts and one run allowed on one hit and zero walks across six innings.

The 28-year-old served up a solo homer during the third inning to Tommy Edman, but he only allowed two other batters to reach base (both via hit-by-pitch). Rodon has failed to pick up a win in each of his past two starts despite allowing only one run on three hits with a 23:0 K:BB over 12 frames.

Glasnow allowed three hits and two walks while striking out 11 across eight scoreless innings Wednesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.

Glasnow dominated the Royals and began his outing by retiring 13 consecutive batters. He's now racked up double-digit strikeouts in six of his 11 starts this season, with his effort Wednesday backed by 25 swinging strikes across 102 total pitches. Glasnow now owns a 2.57 ERA with 98 strikeouts across 70 innings for the season.

Urena was removed from Wednesday's game against Cleveland with right forearm cramping.

The 29-year-old allowed three hits with three walks and two strikeouts through 5.2 scoreless innings before exiting during an at-bat. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue, though Urena's availability for his next turn through the rotation is up in the air.

Allard will start Thursday's game at Seattle.

The 23-year-old will make a spot start in Thursday's series opener with Kyle Gibson (groin) on the injured list. Allard has regularly thrown 40-50 pitches as a reliever this season, so he should be able to cover around four innings, depending on his efficiency. He may only make the one start, as Gibson is not expected to face a lengthy absence.

Kopech is day-to-day after suffering from a sore left hamstring during his relief appearance Wednesday against the Cardinals, James Fegan of The Athleticreports.

Kopech fell awkwardly on the last pitch of his scoreless seventh inning Wednesday, but he appears to have avoided any significant injury. Considering their bullpen depth and Kopech's immense long-term potential, it's unlikely the White Sox rush his return.
