Gibson's next start has been moved up a day, and he'll kick off the series against Houston on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

The schedule originally had Jordan Lyles throwing Tuesday followed by Gibson, but the two hurlers will switch. Gibson, who last pitched Wednesday, will be throwing on five days' rest, while Lyles will pitch on seven days' rest.

Giolito allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out nine over six innings in a no-decision Friday in a 5-4 extra-inning win over Detroit.

Giolito was in line for the win, but closer Liam Hendriks coughed up a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was the fourth quality start over the last five appearances of Giolito, who has a 2.38 ERA and 0.88 WHIP during that run. The right-hander is in line to next start Wednesday at home against Tampa Bay.

Irvin completed six innings against Kansas City on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out four. He did not factor in the decision.

For six innings Friday, Irvin kept the Royals off the scoreboard. However, Salvador Perez greeted him with a leadoff homer in the seventh frame, and Irvin was pulled after the following two batters reached base on singles. Irvin still had a chance to earn a win after his exit, but the Royals' bullpen eventually lost the lead and the contest. Still, the southpaw's appearance was a positive one as he notched his second straight quality start and went exactly six innings for the third straight outing. Irvin is lined up to next face the Angels at home Wednesday.

Singer tossed six innings against Oakland on Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander gave up three runs in the fourth inning but otherwise kept Oakland off the scoreboard. Singer collected his fifth quality start of the campaign and struck out seven for the second straight outing. Through 13 starts this season, he's carried a 4.85 ERA and 69:24 K:BB across 65 innings. Singer's next start is tentatively lined up to come at home against Detroit on Wednesday.

Ober did not factor in the decision Friday versus Houston, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven.

In the third start of his career, Ober made it through five innings for the first time and racked up a career-best seven punchouts. He gave up seven hits -- including a fifth-inning homer off the bat of Jose Altuve -- but threw 52 of 72 pitches for strikes and issued only one free pass. Given the strength of the outing against baseball's top run-scoring offense, Ober figures to be lined up for another start. If he gets that opportunity, it is tentatively scheduled to take place at Seattle on Wednesday.

Urquidy hurled seven innings against Minnesota on Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight. He did not factor in the decision.

Urquidy's final stat line was relatively solid aside from the three solo home runs he served up. The right-hander tied his longest outing of the season and picked up his fifth quality start over his past seven appearances. He induced 21 swinging strikes and finished with eight punchouts -- his second-highest total this season. Urquidy will carry a 3.77 ERA into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for next Friday at home against the White Sox.

McKenzie will start Saturday's game against the Mariners, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

He tossed 5.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and two walks in a June 6 start for Triple-A Columbus. However, McKenzie had a 7.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 36:21 K:BB in 25 innings over six May starts with the big club. If he can hold his own, he could stick around in the rotation.

Manager Alex Cora was impressed with Sale (elbow) during the lefty's bullpen session Friday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The manager expressed strong optimism when talking about the southpaw's Friday bullpen, but also hinted at the fact that he still has a ways to go before he's back in the Red Sox rotation, saying, "We need to not get too excited... but it was just that good." Cora's comments indicate a July return to the Red Sox continues to be a realistic possibility for the veteran left-hander, though Boston will continue to monitor his rehab very closely.

Manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that Maeda (arm) will be activated to start Monday's game against the Mariners, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Maeda landed on the injured list May 23 with a right adductor strain and later suffered arm soreness as he resumed throwing at the end of May. The right-hander threw 54 pitches during a rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, allowing one run while punching out five across four innings. His next start will come with the Twins on Monday, though he likely won't be fully stretched out in his return to the big leagues.

Dunn (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting Friday's game at Cleveland.

The 25-year-old was already announced as Friday's starter, and he's now officially back on the active roster after missing almost two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. Dunn was pitching well before the injury with a 2.20 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB across his past three starts (16.1 innings), and he'll attempt to pick up where he left off.
