Hill (6-2) picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-2 victory over the Red Sox, allowing one run on three hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out five.

The veteran lefty got the hook after 97 erratic pitches (58 strikes), as he also hit a batter and uncorked a wild pitch, but he was able to keep Boston from cashing in his free passes and notch the victory. Hill will carry a 3.52 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 78:29 K:BB through 76.2 innings into his next outing.

Ray (5-3) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over six innings in a 3-1 victory over the Marlins. He struck out six.

The southpaw delivered his fourth quality start in five June outings and ninth of the season as he took a shutout into the sixth inning before serving up a solo shot to Starling Marte. Ray will carry a 3.35 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 103:20 K:BB through 80.2 innings into his next start.

Urquidy (6-3) earned the win over Baltimore on Wednesday, tossing seven scoreless innings and allowing three hits and one walk while striking out six.

The right-hander didn't face much stress in the contest, as Houston staked him to a three-run lead after half an inning and a six-run lead through four frames. To his credit, Urquidy didn't let down his guard, throwing 69 of 84 pitches for strikes and allowing only one extra-base hit. He has completed exactly seven innings in each of his past three starts, posting a 19:3 K:BB and allowing only five runs over that span. HIs next outing is likely to be a rematch against the Orioles -- this time at home -- early next week.

Kaprielian pitched six innings in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to Texas, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. He didn't factor into the decision.

After neither team scored through four innings, Kaprielian allowed a single run in both the fifth and sixth innings before being removed at just 82 pitches. Oakland scored three in the top of the seventh to put the rookie in line for the win, but Texas eventually rallied against the Athletics' bullpen. The six-inning start is encouraging as it was only Kaprielian's third in eight turns, though Manager Bob Melvin appears reluctant to let his young starter work deep into games as he's averaging less than 90 pitches per start.

Manning (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in 5.2 innings, earning the win over St. Louis on Wednesday.

Manning has put in a pair of similar efforts across his first two major-league starts, although he was able to come away with a win after taking a loss in his debut on June 17. The 23-year-old threw 52 of his 80 pitches for strikes in Wednesday's win. The right-hander lines up for a road start in Cleveland next week should he stay in the rotation, which is likely with Spencer Turnbull (forearm) and Matthew Boyd (triceps) expected out through the All-Star break.

Cease (6-3) allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk in 5.2 innings. He struck out seven and earned the win in Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the Pirates.

The righty was pulled after 99 pitches and was one out shy of adding a quality start to Wednesday's stat line. Cease rebounded admirably from his rough, seven-run outing against the Astros, continuing his stretch of inconsistent pitching. Over his last seven starts, he's allowed at least five runs three times while yielding two or fewer in the other four outings. Cease is expected to make his next start Tuesday against the Twins.

The Tigers aren't planning on having Turnbull (forearm) return from the 10-day injured list until after the All-Star break, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Turnbull is set to begin a throwing program this week at the Tigers' spring training facility in Lakeland, Fla., but he'll likely need around three weeks to build up for starting duty after he was shut down earlier this month with a right forearm strain. The right-hander had been Detroit's top pitcher prior to landing on the shelf, going 4-2 with a 2.88 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a 44:12 K:BB In 50 innings through his first nine starts.

Matz (illness) will throw a bullpen session at his home Thursday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

The Blue Jays were hopeful that Matz would be able to return from the COVID-19 injured list this week, but he'll require at least one more throwing session before he's cleared to return. The southpaw has continued to throw while he's been in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, and he was reportedly built up to 70 pitches during his most recent throwing session. If Matz is able to clear COVID-19 protocols in the near future, he could return to the rotation early next week.

Civale was diagnosed Wednesday with a sprained right middle finger, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. He'll be shut down from throwing for 1-to-2 weeks and is expected to require 4-to-5 weeks to complete his rehab program.

Civale's absence is the latest blow to the Cleveland rotation, which is already without its top two starters in Shane Bieber (shoulder) and Zach Plesac (thumb). Though Plesac has resumed throwing and could be back before the All-Star break, both Civale and Bieber appear likely to miss several more weeks. Cleveland will place Civale on the 10-day injured list at some point prior to Thursday's series opener in Minnesota, but a replacement in the rotation probably won't be named until the right-hander's next turn in the rotation comes up Monday against the Tigers. Through his 15 starts this season, Civale has gone 10-2 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 76:23 K:BB in 97.2 innings.

Wentz (elbow) was reinstated from the 7-day minor-league injured list Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Wentz made five rehab appearances for Low-A Lakeland across the last few weeks and posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 18.2 innings. He's now been cleared to return following his recovery from March 2020 Tommy John surgery, and he'll start for Double-A Erie on Wednesday. If the southpaw performs well at the Double-A level, he could head to Triple-A Toledo at some point.
