Allard (2-9) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and three walks over three innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Mariners.

Allard coughed up four runs in the second inning, including a pair after an error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa. He then served up a three-run blast to Jarred Kelenic the following inning. The 6-foot-1 lefty has now taken the loss in seven straight starts, allowing 31 earned runs through 35.2 innings (7.82 ERA) during that span. For the year, his ERA jumped up to 5.23 alongside a 70:18 K:BB. Allard is currently projected to face the Angels at home next week.

Gilbert (5-2) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rangers.

Gilbert worked through three scoreless frames before giving up a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings. He then served up two solo shots to Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim in the sixth. Prior to Friday's outing, the rookie right-hander had gone 22.2 straight innings without giving up a homer. His ERA is now up to 4.04 alongside a 73:14 K:BB through 62.1 frames. Gilbert is projected to face the Rays on the road next week.

Glasnow (elbow) threw off a mound Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Glasnow's session came while he was in Texas for a follow-up visit regarding his elbow. He's been optimistic for a while now that he'll return before the end of the season, and he's making steady progress, though when exactly he'll make it back is not yet clear.

Detmers will make his major-league debut Sunday against the Athletics.

Detmers advanced to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday and struck out nine in six scoreless frames during his lone appearance with the club. He'll serve as a starter after Alex Cobb (wrist) was placed on the injured list and Shohei Ohtani (thumb) was pushed back to start Monday, but whether Detmers remains in the big-league rotation could depend on his results Sunday.

Perez (7-7) allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings, taking the loss versus Tampa Bay on Friday.

For just the second time in 21 starts, Perez yielded three home runs. The six runs allowed also matched a season high for the 30-year-old. He's now gone four starts without a win, posting an 0-3 record in that span. Perez has a 4.56 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 83:33 K:BB across 98.2 innings this season. He lines up for a favorable road start in Detroit next week.

Taillon (7-4) earned the win over Miami on Friday. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.2 scoreless innings.

The right-hander benefited from facing a Miami team depleted of talent at the trade deadline. Taillon was an out short of a quality start, but he's still allowed just six runs (four earned) in 31 innings in July. His strong work lately has dropped his ERA to 4.11 with a 1.24 WHIP and 98:31 K:BB across 100.2 innings overall. The 29-year-old lines up for another easy start next week versus Baltimore.

Singer (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Singer is already eligible to return from a bout of shoulder fatigue but will make at least one rehab start before doing so. If that one outing is all he needs, he should return to the active roster sometime next week.

Cobb was placed on the 10-day injured list with right wrist inflammation Friday, retroactive to July 27.

Cobb was initially diagnosed with a blister on his right index finger, but he's apparently dealing with a wrist injury that will sideline him for at least 10 days. Since the move can was backdated to July 27, he'll be eligible to return late next week, but it's not clear whether he'll be able to do so.

Paxton (forearm), who is out until 2022, has been participating in rehabilitation sessions at T-Mobile Park on a near-daily basis and serving as a mentor to younger pitchers on the roster, the team's official site reports.

The veteran left-hander still has a long road ahead in his recovery, but the fact he's making the best of an unfavorable situation is certainly encouraging. Paxton has reportedly remained free of setbacks in his work back from season-ending surgery for a left forearm strain and continues to have a chance to return to the mound at some point before the All-Star break next season.

Kluber (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Wednesday and is expected to start throwing to live hitters following one additional bullpen session, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

The right-hander has now been out for over two months with a subscapularis strain in his right shoulder, but he appears to be moving closer to a return to the Yankees' rotation. His past two bullpen sessions have lasted 20 and 30 pitches, and he'll likely increase that number once more before facing live hitters. If he continues to progress without any setbacks, Kluber could return to the big club in late August or early September.
