Bundy was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder strain.

There was no indication Bundy had left Tuesday's start after 1.1 innings due to an injury, but he apparently injured his shoulder in that brief, one-run outing. The righty will be eligible to return from the IL in early September, though it's unclear whether that will be enough time for him to get healthy. It's been a miserable 2021 season for Bundy, who's gone 2-9 with a 6.06 ERA in 90.2 innings.

Albers is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Brewers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Albers had his contract selected by the Twins on Aug. 19 and immediately pitched four innings of long relief, and he'll now join the rotation with Kenta Maeda (forearm) sidelined. The left-hander had a 3.86 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 78:9 K:BB across 91 innings (16 appearances) at Triple-A St. Paul prior to being promoted.

Rasmussen took a no-decision in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Phillies after allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out one over five innings.

The five-inning outing represented a new career high for Rasmussen, who is slowly ramping up his pitch count after moving from the bullpen to the rotation Aug. 12. In his first three starts with the Rays, Rasmussen has allowed only two runs in 13 innings, but a 5.5 K/9 and zero wins during that stretch have somewhat muted his overall fantasy impact.

Skubal allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 10 in five innings of Wednesday's 3-2, extra-inning loss against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Two solo shots by Paul Goldschmidt were essentially the only blemishes on Skubal's outing, and considering the high strikeout total, his pitch count of 85 was pretty impressive. The lefty has now allowed two runs or fewer in four consecutive starts en route to a 1.59 ERA in August. Skubal's second big-league season has been a solid one, as his 4.01 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 144:42 K:BB in 128 innings indicate. He's expected to make his next start Tuesday against the Athletics.

Overton was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The righty heads to Buffalo after throwing three scoreless innings of relief Tuesday against the White Sox. Overton's roster spot was required to activate Joakim Soria from the injured list, but he hasn't allowed a run in four appearances and could find himself back with the Blue Jays in the near future.

Dunning (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday, Chris Halicke of SI.com reports.

While the Rangers haven't announced whether Dunning has tested positive for the virus, he won't be able to make his scheduled turn through the rotation Wednesday. Left-hander Jake Latz's contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock in advance of him serving as Wednesday's starter, and it's not yet clear when Dunning will be able to return.

McKenzie was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder fatigue Wednesday, retroactive to Aug. 22, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

McKenzie earned the win in his most recent start when he allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out eight in seven innings against the Angels on Saturday. However, he's apparently dealing with a shoulder issue that will force him to miss at least one turn through the rotation. Logan Allen was recalled from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move, and he's an option to take McKenzie's place in the rotation.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Rodon (shoulder) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Thursday's game against the Blue Jays in Toronto, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Though La Russa expressed some uncertainty about Rodon's availability for the series in Toronto, the southpaw apparently alleviated any concerns about his health by completing a bullpen session earlier this week without issue. Chicago could look to monitor Rodon's workload in his first start back from the IL, but since he was only on the shelf for two and a half weeks, he shouldn't need much time to get fully ramped up. Rodon's impending return will likely result in Reynaldo Lopez moving back to the bullpen.

Baz has tossed seven innings across two outings since returning to Triple-A Durham after a monthlong absence for the Olympics, giving up two runs on four hits with a 9:0 K:BB.

They've eased him back in after his lengthy absence, continuing the Rays' trend of treating Baz with kid gloves. He's yet to exceed five innings all season long, and that'll probably remain the case down the stretch. Despite his somewhat limited workload, this has been a breakthrough season for Baz, who struggled with his control in years past but has a spectacular 91:10 K:BB in 62.2 innings this season. He'll likely reach the big leagues next year, but it won't be a surprise if the Rays continue monitoring his innings.

Cease improved to 10-6 after limiting the Blue Jays to one run on four hits and one walk while striking out seven in seven innings Tuesday in the White Sox's 5-2 victory.

The White Sox staked Cease to a 4-0 lead before he first took the mound for the bottom of the first inning, and the right-hander ensured his side maintained that advantage from wire to wire. Toronto didn't break through against Cease until the seventh inning, when Corey Dickerson took the right-hander deep for a solo shot. Cease, who owns a 3-2 record, 3.55 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 11.9 K/9 since the All-Star break, tentatively lines up for his second start of the week Sunday at home versus the Cubs.
