Gray (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting Tuesday at Philadelphia, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

The 30-year-old landed on the shelf with a low-grade MCL sprain after his last start April 19, and he'll retake the mound for the Rangers exactly two weeks later. Gray has made only two starts this season, as he also suffered a finger injury Opening Day which required a short stint on the injured list. The right-hander threw 77 pitches over five innings his last time out and figures to face some minor workload restrictions Tuesday given his limited workload so far this season.

Gray (hamstring) will make a second minor-league rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.

Gray threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks Sunday in his first rehab start for Single-A Fort Myers. Given the strong showing with Fort Myers, Gray looked to be a candidate to potentially return from the 10-day injured list this week, but the Twins will instead give him additional time to stretch out in the minors. Gray's continued absence should pave the way for rookie Josh Winder to make a second turn through the rotation.

The Tigers announced that Faedo will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to serve as Detroit's starting pitcher for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Pirates.

The 2017 first-round selection will be designated as the 27th man for the twin bill and make his MLB debut in the nightcap while Michael Pineda takes the hill for Game 1. Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, Faedo has tossed just 15.2 innings in affiliated ball, with Tommy John surgery plus the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season due to the COVID-19 pandemic conspiring to keep him off the mound. However, Faedo looked plenty healthy in his debut for Toledo on April 27, covering five scoreless innings while striking out eight. Ideally, the Tigers would give Faedo more time to stretch out at Triple-A, but he'll be summoned to the big leagues due to Detroit being down several other starting pitchers as it begins a stretch of 17 games in 15 days. Faedo will likely be optioned back to the minors following the doubleheader.

Javier is scheduled to make his second start of the season Tuesday against the Mariners.

For the second week in a row, the Astros will roll out a six-man rotation featuring Javier, who earned another turn after limiting the Rangers to two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings in his first start April 27 in Arlington. The right-hander tossed 84 pitches in that outing, so he already looks to be stretched out for starting duty after opening the season in the bullpen.

Stripling didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Yankees, giving up two runs on five hits over four innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

The right-hander made only one real mistake, but Gleyber Torres launched it into the seats in the fourth inning for a two-run shot. Stripling tossed 63 pitches (47 strikes) before exiting, and he's now failed to last more than four innings in three of four starts since moving into the rotation, putting a firm ceiling on his fantasy utility. His 3.79 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB through 19 innings on the season are solid ratios, but with Hyun Jin Ryu (forearm) set to begin a rehab assignment this coming weekend, Stripling is likely a couple weeks away from returning to the bullpen.

Montgomery didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays, giving up two runs on six hits over five-plus innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The southpaw tossed only 65 pitches (49 strikes) before exiting a 2-2 tie after allowing a single to Bo Bichette to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning. Montgomery has lasted at least five frames and given up two runs or fewer in four straight starts, leaving him with a 2.88 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB through 25 innings, but he's still looking for his first win of 2022.

Rasmussen (2-1) notched the victory against Oakland on Monday, tossing five innings and allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Rasmussen induced only six swinging strikes, and the A's wore him down with 22 foul balls. Regardless, he yielded only one hit (a single) and one walk, and stuck around just long enough to pick up his second straight win. The right-hander hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any appearance this year, helping him register a solid 3.13 ERA through five starts. He's tentatively lined up to next take the mound this weekend in Seattle.

Gonzales (1-3) took the loss against Houston on Monday, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two over six innings.

Gonzales was hit on his left wrist by a comebacker in his previous start and wasn't certain to be available Monday, but he ended up making the start and navigating through six frames. He allowed plenty of traffic on the bases but still managed to notch his second quality start, with all three runs against him coming by way of the long ball. The southpaw has struggled somewhat this season, though his ERA stands at a respectable 4.05 since eight of the 17 runs scored against him have been unearned. He's expected to next take the mound at home against Tampa Bay this weekend.

Odorizzi (2-2) earned the win over Seattle on Monday, completing 6.2 scoreless innings during which he allowed four hits and one walk while striking out three.

Odorizzi didn't miss many bats in the contest -- he induced only six swinging strikes -- but he didn't give up any extra-base hits or allow any Mariners to reach second base. The right-hander started the season poorly, posting a 9.00 ERA through his first three starts, but he has bounced back to allow just one run over 12.2 frames across his past two trips to the mound. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which lines up to come at home against Detroit this weekend.

Manager Tony La Russa said Monday that he expects Cueto to help the team "sooner rather than later," Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Cueto impressed in his last outing with Triple-A Charlotte, throwing four scoreless innings while striking out six. Though it's already been determined that he will make another start in the minors, Cueto could have his contract purchased and realistically make his White Sox debut by May 11 -- which lines up with Vince Velasquez's turn through the rotation. Even if that occurs, Lance Lynn (knee) is pushing to return by the end of May, so Cueto's long-term role remains unclear. However, La Russa's comments suggest the team is high on Cueto's potential to contribute, so he may be utilized creatively so long as he shows some effectiveness.
