He surrendered five runs in the second frame, including a DJ LeMahieu grand slam with two outs. He later gave up another run in the next inning. The left-hander failed to register a strikeout for the second time this year and the tough outing put an end to a strong stretch for the 34-year-old. Over his prior four starts, he had posted a 2.70 ERA over 20 innings. Keuchel has had a couple blowups this year, including Saturday, and he now has a 6.60 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with 16 punchouts over 30 innings this season.

Singer is on the Royals' taxi squad and is expected to start Sunday against the Twins, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Ober will start Sunday's game against the Royals, and he'll be activated by Minnesota a day before the outing. The right-hander has been sidelined since late April due to a right groin strain but has been pitching off a mound for several weeks. He recently made a rehab start at Triple-A St. Paul and allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and no walks while striking out seven in five innings. Josh Winder (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list as part of a series of roster moves.

Sale (ribs) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Steve Hewitt of the Boston Herald reports.

The right-hander will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2022 season and should miss a significant portion of the 2023 campaign.

Ryu tossed 52 of 78 pitches for strikes in his longest outing -- and first quality start -- of the season, and he appears to be back in form after missing nearly a month with a forearm issue.

Probably, he was doing it before when he was being successful. Just a few things that we noticed and we just have got to make adjustments." Hill will look to figure out his tipping issues ahead of his next start, which is expected to come Tuesday in Chicago against the White Sox.
