Wentz was removed from Wednesday's start at Triple-A Toledo after he was hit on the shin by a comebacker, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Wentz lasted five innings during his first start after being sent down, but he was removed from Wednesday's outing after just two innings. The southpaw underwent X-rays that came back negative, so manager A.J. Hinch is hopeful that Wentz isn't dealing with a significant injury.

Manning (shoulder/illness) was shut down from throwing Thursday after being diagnosed with right biceps tendinitis, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old wasn't believed to be dealing with an additional injury despite covering only 1.2 innings during Tuesday's rehab start, but he's now been shut down for the "foreseeable future." Manning has been sidelined by the shoulder injury since April 16, and he's now unlikely to be back until at least July due to the biceps injury.

Wells (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and zero walks over five innings against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Wells was lights out through three innings, but he allowed a leadoff double to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Miguel Andujar in the fourth. Another run came around to score on a throwing error from catcher Adley Rutschman, but Wells was able to limit the damage by getting back-to-back groundouts to end the inning. The right-hander sports a 4.30 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP through 37.2 innings, but his lack of strikeouts (25) has limited his fantasy upside to start the season.

Rasmussen (5-1) allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings to earn the win Wednesday against Miami.

Rasmussen began the outing with three scoreless innings but allowed the first four hitters to reach base in the fourth frame to account for the damage. Rasmussen has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any of his nine starts, though he has recorded more than 15 outs on only two occasions. For the season, he has maintained a 2.68 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB across 43.2 frames.

Ray (4-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings as the Mariners fell 4-2 to the A's. He struck out 10.

The 10 whiffs tied his season high, as Ray fired 60 of 95 pitches for strikes in his fourth quality start of the year. Home runs continue to be an issue for the southpaw, however -- he got taken deep twice Wednesday and has served up homers in five straight starts, leaving him with a 4.75 ERA and 1.48 HR/9 despite a solid 1.20 WHIP and 68:21 K:BB through 60.2 innings.

Blackburn (5-0) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up one hit and five walks over 5.1 scoreless innings in a 4-2 victory over the Mariners. He struck out two.

It was a rough showing for the right-hander, who managed to get only 45 of 81 pitches over the plate before exiting, but Seattle couldn't take advantage of all the extra traffic on the basepaths. Blackburn had issued just seven free passes in 42.1 innings coming into the start, so his loss of control doesn't seems like a serious issue for now. He'll take a 1.70 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB into his next outing.

Houck allowed three hits and walked two while striking out three over three scoreless innings in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the White Sox.

Houck, who opened the season in the starting rotation, has since been used primarily as a piggyback reliever for No. 5 starter Rich Hill. After a brief two-game shaky stretch, Houck has allowed one run on five hits and four walks while striking out nine over 10 innings in his relief role. That's lowered his ERA to 4.28, but the right-hander continues to flirt with men on base; he's walked 15 and hit three batters over 33.2 innings.

Detmers (2-2) took the loss against Texas on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three batters across six innings.

It was a positive that Detmers was able to give the Angels six innings in the contest -- this was only the second time all season that he has pitched that deep into a game. However, the southpaw was tagged for two fourth-inning homers and tied a season-worst mark by yielding five runs overall. Since hurling a no-hitter against Tampa Bay on May 10, Detmers has given up eight earned runs across 9.2 frames. Things won't get easier for him in the near future, as he's lined up to take on the Yankees in New York in his next start.

Quantrill (1-3) allowed two runs on six hits and four walks over six innings to take the loss against Houston on Wednesday. He struck out three batters.

Quantrill was shaky in the start, issuing four free passes and stranding four runners in scoring position. However, he navigated his way through six innings with the Astros putting only two runs on the scoreboard, finishing with his fifth quality start over his past six outings. He hasn't picked up any wins over that stretch though, and he remains stuck on just one victory on the campaign. His 3.42 ERA and 1.23 WHIP overall suggests that he probably deserves better, though a 28:19 K:BB across 47.1 innings is reason for concern. Quantrill is expected to make his next start at home against Kansas City next week.

Javier (3-2) earned the win over Cleveland on Wednesday, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings and allowing three hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Javier fanned nine batters -- a season high -- for the second straight game, and he racked up 20 swings-and-misses among his 96 pitches Wednesday. After working as a reliever at the beginning of the campaign, the right-hander has started in five of his past six outings and has performed well aside from a seven-run blowup in 3.2 innings against Washington on May 14. His recent big strikeout numbers have raised his fantasy appeal considerably and increased the likelihood that he'll remain a part of Houston's rotation even after Jake Odorizzi (leg) returns to action. Javier's next start is lined up to come in Oakland next week.
