Kluber (1-4) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits over six innings in an 8-6 victory over the Orioles. He struck out three without walking a batter.

After a tough beginning to his tenure with the Red Sox, Kluber rebounded to record his first win and first quality start of 2023. The veteran right-hander's dominance is long gone -- he managed only five swinging strikes on 80 pitches -- but he was able to hit his spots Tuesday, and only a Jorge Mateo solo shot in the fifth inning marred his performance. Kluber will take a 6.75 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB through 24 innings into his next outing, likely to come early next week at home against the Blue Jays.

Battenfield (0-2) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings as the Guardians fell 5-1 to the Rockies. He struck out four.

The rookie right-hander couldn't find the plate consistently on a chilly day in Cleveland, tossing only 54 of 97 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. Battenfield has completed five innings only once in three MLB starts since his promotion, and while his 3.52 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 15.1 innings are decent, his 12:7 K:BB is less encouraging. With Logan Allen looking good in his debut Sunday and Tanner Bibee knocking on the door, Battenfield's hold on a rotation spot is tenuous at best. If he does get another turn, it's likely to come early next week in Yankee Stadium.

Singer (2-2) got the win Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on five hits and no walks while striking out five over six innings.

Singer scattered five hits in the effort and his lone blemish of the day came in the fourth, as Corbin Carroll led off the inning with a triple and scored on a groundball from Christian Walker. The 26-year-old surpassed 90 pitches for a second straight start and reached six innings for the second time this season as well. He generated 10 whiffs with seven of them coming from his slider. It was undoubtedly Singer's most complete performance so far this year, and he'll carry a 6.67 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB (27 innings) into his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend against the Twins.

Ragans allowed five runs on three hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Reds. He also hit a batter.

Ragans managed to avoid getting the loss -- that went to Ian Kennedy -- but the fault falls mostly on Ragans. It was the second straight bullpen meltdown by Texas relievers. The bullpen had been strong to begin the season but are in a rough patch, posting a 6.75 ERA over 13.1 innings since the start of the series with the Athletics last week.

Canning (1-0) got the win over the Athletics on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

Canning picked up his first win since June 9, 2021 and notched seven strikeouts for the first time since May 26, 2021 after not pitching at all last season due to a stress fracture in his back. He allowed runs to score in the first, fifth and sixth -- he was pulled after a leadoff double. The 27-year-old sports a 4.11 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB over 15.1 innings across three starts and should be due to start against the Cardinals next week.

Miller (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Angels, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six over four innings.

All the damage against Miller came in the first inning, after he allowed four hits and a walk, which would plate four runs for the Halos. The 24-year-old settled in thereafter, giving up just one more hit over his next three frames. Miller has been hit hard in first two major-league outings, but he's displayed control with his pitches along with major strikeout upside. He sits at a 6.48 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB over 8.1 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Mariners next week.

Perez did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing a run on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in a 7-6 loss to the Reds. He struck out five.

Perez kept the Reds off the board for 6.1 innings, scattering six hits. However, the Rangers' bullpen would implode for a second straight night, costing Perez the win. The veteran left-hander is 3-1 with a 2.60 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB through his first five starts of the season. Perez currently lines up to face the Yankees at home in his next outing.

Clevinger (2-2) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out three.

Clevinger struggled to keep one of MLB's top offenses off the scoreboard, giving up six runs in the first four innings while failing to record a clean inning until his fifth and final frame. Danny Jansen started the offensive explosion, hitting a three-run home run in the second inning while plating Brandon Belt and Matt Chapman. Clevinger holds a 4.81 ERA and 1.60 WHIP through five starts and is on pace to regress in strikeouts for the third consecutive year, currently sporting a 6.66 K/9.

Gonzales (2-0) got the win Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over five innings in a 5-3 victory over the Phillies. He struck out two.

Gonzales kept the Phillies off-balance Tuesday, allowing just one run on an Edmundo Sosa home run in the fifth inning en route to his second win. Gonzalez has been solid over his last three starts, allowing four runs over 16.2 innings while striking out 16. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.32 with a 1.25 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB through his first four starts of the year.

Berrios (2-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing no runs on four hits and one walk over seven innings in a 7-0 win over the White Sox. He struck out nine.

Berrios turned in his best outing of the season Tuesday, giving up no runs for the first time in any of his five starts and setting a new high in punchouts with nine. The right-hander got out to a blazing start, striking out the side in the first and retiring 12 of his first 13 batters overall. Berrios owns a so-so 4.71 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP and a 9.42 K/9 so far this season. However, brighter days appear to be ahead, considering he has allowed just three runs over his last 19 innings and has gone seven frames in each of his last two starts.
