Battenfield allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out two over two relief innings in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Battenfield started his first three appearances of the season with mixed results. The strong debuts of Logan Allen and Tanner Bibee, combined with an off day in each of the next three weeks means that the Guardians can get by with five starters, and Battenfield looks as though he'll be the odd man out. Battenfield has a 4.67 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB across 17.1 innings, and there's always a chance the 25-year-old right-hander could be optioned out to Triple-A Columbus for a fresh bullpen arm if he continues to struggle.

Waldichuk allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in Sunday's win against the Reds. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Waldichuk set a new season high with his seven punchouts, and it's the second-best total of his MLB career. He gave up a solo home run to Nick Senzel in the second inning before getting charged with two more runs in the sixth. Waldichuk's ERA fell slightly to 7.26 with a 25:12 K:BB through six starts this season. His next outing is projected to be in Kansas City next week.

Urquidy was removed from Sunday's start against the Phillies due to right shoulder soreness, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Urquidy exited Sunday's matchup with a trainer in the top of the sixth inning, and manager Dusty Baker revealed after the game that the right-hander has been diagnosed with a sore shoulder. Urquidy will see a doctor Monday, which will likely give the team a better idea of his status. If he's able to make his next start, he projects to take the mound in Seattle next weekend.

Suarez (1-1) earned the win during Sunday's 3-0 victory over Milwaukee, tossing five scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and three walks. He struck out six.

Suarez allowed seven runs, including five homers, his last time out, but he was given another shot in the rotation and came through with his best outing of the campaign. The left-hander's ERA dropped from 10.26 to 7.89, and his six strikeouts were a season high. Despite the solid bounce back, the 25-year-old is likely still on the hot seat and could be in danger of being demoted to the bullpen or Triple-A if he struggles in his next start.

Urquidy exited Sunday's start against the Phillies in the top of the sixth inning due to an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Urquidy appeared to hurt himself while throwing a changeup with one out in the top of the sixth inning, and he was removed from the game after talking with a trainer. Prior to his departure, the right-hander was relatively effective after struggling in his last two starts. He allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out three in 5.1 innings against Philadelphia, and it's unclear whether his injury will prevent him from making his next start, which tentatively lines up for next weekend in Seattle.

Bradish did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over 4.2 innings during a 5-3 win over the Tigers. He struck out five.

Bradish was sharp through four straight scoreless frames, but he allowed a two-run homer and an RBI double in the fifth before getting pulled with two on and two out. It was a solid bounce back for the right-hander, who was tagged for seven runs over 2.1 innings last time out, but the results continue to be sporadic after a brief stint on the injured list. Bradish's next start is projected for Baltimore's upcoming three-game stint in Atlanta.

Turnbull (1-4) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over four innings during a 5-3 loss to the Orioles. He struck out three.

Turnbull allowed two or fewer earned runs for the third time over his past four starts, but he still picked up his fourth loss. He threw just 50 of his 83 pitches for strikes and issued multiple walks for the fifth time over six starts. Turnbull's ERA actually dropped from 7.25 to 6.84, but he still doesn't look like the pitcher he was in 2021, when he posted a 2.88 ERA over nine starts (50 innings) before undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Bassitt did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on two hits and four walks over five innings in a 10-8 loss against the Mariners. He struck out seven.

After back-to-back strikeouts to start the game, Bassitt walked two and hit a batter before surrendering a grand slam to Taylor Trammell. The right-hander was able to settle down after getting through the first and was in line for the win after four straight scoreless frames. Sunday's performance marked just the second time Bassitt failed to get through six innings and snapped a run of four straight outings with two or fewer earned runs. Bassitt's next start is tentatively scheduled versus the Pirates, who are tied for fourth in MLB in runs per game (5.5).

Gonzales did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing eight runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk over three innings during a 10-8 win over the Blue Jays in extras. He struck out two.

Gonzales was spotted a four-run lead in the top of the first, but he surrendered multiple runs in each of his three frames and was in line for the loss before Seattle made a late-inning comeback. The left-hander had been solid over his previous three starts (four total earned runs over 16.2 innings) after a shaky opening to the campaign, but Sunday's performance was his worst outing thus far and raised his ERA from 3.32 to 4.74. Things don't get easier for Gonzales, whose next start is scheduled during a three-game set with the Astros.

Gray improved to 4-0 after allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven in an 8-4 win over the Royals on Sunday.

Gray capped off April with another masterful performance. He tossed five shutout innings before the Royals finally got a run across in the sixth. The 33-year-old has now thrown at least five innings and allowed one run or fewer in each of his six starts this season, and his 0.77 ERA currently leads Major League Baseball among all pitchers with at least 25 innings thrown. Gray has been a fantasy star over the first month of the year and will look to keep things rolling in a divisional matchup against the Guardians next weekend.
