Berrios did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing a run on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Berrios has now allowed two runs or fewer in all five of his starts since the start of July, working to a 1.84 ERA in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old right-hander is 8-7 with a 3.31 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 123:40 K:BB across 22 starts (130.1 innings) this season. Berrios will look to keep rolling in his outing, currently lined up for next week in Boston.

Anderson did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing a run on seven hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays. He struck out two.

Anderson has looked better recently, working to a 3.53 ERA over his last seven outings. He's now allowed one run or fewer in three of his previous five starts. Overall, the 33-year-old southpaw is 5-2 with a 4.98 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 80:31 K:BB across 18 starts (99.1 innings) this season. Anderson's next start is currently lined up for next week at home against the Mariners.

The Orioles optioned Wells to Double-A Bowie on Sunday.

Wells surrendered three runs over 2.2 frames Saturday against the Yankees and has an 11.00 ERA and 8:9 K:BB in three starts since the All-Star break, leading Baltimore to send him to the minors to straighten things out. The right-hander had a 3.18 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 103:24 K:BB across 104.2 innings during the first half of the season, and the Orioles are likely hoping he can quickly regain that form in the minors and rejoin the big-league rotation.

Kaprielian visited with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles earlier this week for an evaluation on his right shoulder and remains shut down from all throwing, the team's official site reports.

The right-hander's stay on the injured list has now exceeded one month, and from the sound of this latest report, it appears set to extend through the first half of August, at minimum. The team is expected to provide more detail on Kaprielian's conditions Tuesday before the start of a three-game series with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Eflin (knee) said he is "good to go" for his scheduled start against the Yankees on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The right-hander left his previous start Wednesday with left knee discomfort, but he's been cleared for his next turn through the rotation after throwing a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday with no issues. Eflin has surrendered five runs in two of his past three starts but still has a career-best 3.64 ERA through 20 outings this season.

The Rangers placed Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right forearm strain.

Though Eovaldi hadn't pitched since July 18 and was ruled out for his first turn through the rotation earlier this past week, the Rangers opted to keep him on the 26-man active roster with the hope that he would be ready to go the next time a fifth starter was needed. However, after Eovaldi failed to show enough improvement following an extended rest period and was ruled out from making a start Sunday in San Diego, the Rangers decided that they couldn't carry the right-hander on the active roster any longer. Cody Bradford will make another spot start in his stead Sunday, but the newly acquired Max Scherzer will end up taking over Eovaldi's spot in the rotation next week. Eovaldi's placement on the IL is retroactive to Thursday, so he'll be first eligible for activation Aug. 11.

Sale (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Sale is scheduled to pitch three innings for the WooSox, then make a second rehab start the following Sunday. At that point the Red Sox will reassess the left-hander and decide on the next step. It's possible Sale could rejoin Boston's rotation as soon as the team's series against the Tigers, which begins Friday, Aug. 11. Red Sox manager Alex Cora previously stated the club is considering bringing Sale back before he's completely built up. If he does return for the series with the Tigers, Sale could be used as an opener who would go three or four innings, then pitch deeper into games as he builds arm strength.

Wentz (2-9) tossed 4.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Marlins. He allowed four hits and a walk while striking out six.

Wentz was recalled from Triple-A Toledo earlier in the day and served as Detroit's primary pitcher, entering the game in the third inning for Beau Brieske. Wentz struggled mightily in his first stint with the Tigers this season, posting a 6.78 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 71.2 innings. He posted an improved 4.00 ERA with Toledo, however, and could stick around in Detroit if the team trades Eduardo Rodriguez and/or Michael Lorenzen in advance of Tuesday's deadline.

Detmers (2-8) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in a 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays. He struck out five.

Detmers was able to pitch his way out of a few jams until the bottom of the fifth, when he walked Alejandro Kirk to open the inning before surrendering a two-run blast to Santiago Espinal. The lefty would retire the next two batters before being relieved by Reynaldo Lopez but still went on to suffer his third straight loss (spanning four starts). Detmers has allowed at least two runs in all five of his starts this month while failing to make it through five innings in two of those outings.

Clevinger (4-4) picked up the win Saturday, scattering two hits over five scoreless innings in a 7-2 victory over the Guardians. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Making his first start since June 14, Clevinger was sharp in his return from bicep inflammation, retiring 10 straight batters at one point and not letting any Cleveland runners get into scoring position. The 32-year-old right-hander got the hook after 72 pitches (53 strikes), and the early exit may have had less to do with his workload and more that the White Sox were concerned a late fade would hurt his market value. Clevinger's next outing could well come in another uniform as Chicago ships out veterans and expiring contracts ahead of the trade deadline.
