Povich (1-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

Povich struggled from the jump, surrendering five runs across the first two innings, including four via the long ball. He generated eight swinging strikes on 77 pitches and allowed eight hard-hit balls, including five over 100 mph. It was a rough return for the southpaw, who is filling in for Trevor Rogers (illness), after yielding three earned runs across 12.1 major-league innings in early April. He'll try to rebound in a road matchup against the Marlins next week.

Burrows (1-4) took the loss against the Red Sox on Friday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over six innings.

Burrows allowed zero runs in five of his frames but was burned by a three-run home run in the third inning. While it marked his first quality start of the season, the 26-year-old has now surrendered eight long balls through seven outings. He owns a 5.97 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 36:13 K:BB across 37.2 innings and lines up for a road matchup at homer-friendly Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati next weekend.

Bennett (1-0) was the pitcher of record in Friday's 3-1 win over the Astros, allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Making his first major-league start, Bennett allowed a solo home run in the third inning but mostly impressed with four scoreless frames. He threw 58 strikes and generated 10 whiffs on 85 pitches, including six on his changeup. Though the 25-year-old produced a sparkling 0.86 ERA in six outings at Triple-A Worcester prior to the strong showing Friday, it's unclear if the Red Sox will have room in the rotation for Bennett moving forward. Sonny Gray is making could progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list the next time a fifth starter is needed Wednesday in Detroit.

Manoah (finger) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Manoah said that he has built up to 90 pitches during sim games, and he's now set for his first opportunity to test his bruised right middle finger in a game. Although he has already built up his workload, the Angels may keep the 28-year-old in the minors for multiple starts before activating him from the injured list.

Miller (oblique) is scheduled to make his next rehab start with High-A Everett on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Miller is coming off a strong rehab outing with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, when he yielded two hits and issued two walks while striking out four batters across four scoreless innings. He tossed 53 pitches (36 strikes) in that appearance, and he'll continue to build up his pitch count before returning to the majors, which is tentatively trending toward happening in mid-May.

Berrios (elbow) will appear in one more rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Berrios wasn't great in his last rehab appearance with Buffalo on Wednesday, when he tossed 70 pitches and allowed five runs on five hits (including two homers) and two walks while striking out two across four innings. With Berrios scheduled to pitch Sunday, he could rejoin the Blue Jays for their weekend home series against the Angels that kicks off Friday, May 8, barring any setbacks.

Imai (arm) will make his next rehab appearance Tuesday or Wednesday with Triple-A Sugar Land, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Japanese right-hander made his first rehab appearance with Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday, allowing five runs over two innings. Imai struggled to a 7.27 ERA and a 13:11 K:BB in his first three MLB starts before landing on the shelf, so he's likely to need another rehab start or two after next week's outing.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Rodon's (elbow) next rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre could be his last, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Rodon has looked sharp in his first two rehab outings, allowing just one run with a 12:1 K:BB over 9.2 innings. The left-hander got his pitch count built up to 75 his last time out and will get stretched out a bit more Tuesday. If all goes well, Rodon will make his season debut as soon as May 10 on the road in Milwaukee. Rodon is coming back from offseason surgery to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur in his left elbow.

The Tigers announced Friday that Verlander (hip) isn't yet asymptomatic and remains without an official timeline to begin a rehab assignment, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Verlander will throw another bullpen session soon and seems to be trending in the right direction as he works his way back from left hip inflammation. However, the 43-year-old is still feeling some soreness, and until that goes away, he won't be cleared to pitch in games. Verlander missed all of April with the injury.

Povich was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and will start Friday's game against the Yankees.

The left-hander is filling the rotation spot vacated by Trevor Rogers, who recently landed on the injured list due to an illness. Povich has pitched well in his two major-league outings (one start) this year, giving up three earned runs with a 7:3 K:BB across 12.1 innings. Rogers isn't expected to be out for long, so Povich may stay up with the big club for only a couple turns through the rotation.
