  • Ryan Rolison RP | COL

Rockies' Ryan Rolison: Sent back to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Rolison to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Rolison was recalled from Albuquerque on Monday when the Rockies' active roster expanded from 26 to 28 men, but he'll end up heading back to the minors just two days later after Colorado needed to make room for waiver-wire pickup Roansy Contreras. The left-handed Rolison has made 27 appearances (one start) for Colorado this season, logging a 7.15 ERA and 1.82 WHIP over 39 innings.

  • John Rooney RP | HOU

Astros' John Rooney: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Astros transferred Rooney (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Elbow inflammation sent Rooney to the injured list last week, and moving to the 60-day IL will officially put an end to his regular season. The 28-year-old turned in a 2.56 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 38.2 innings in Triple-A and gave up one run in 1.1 frames during his MLB debut. Jayden Murray was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move.

  • Jackson Kowar RP | SEA

Mariners' Jackson Kowar: Option reversed, lands on IL

The Mariners recalled Kowar from Triple-A Tacoma and placed him on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder impingement, retroactive to Aug. 19.

Kowar was sent down to Triple-A in mid-August but hasn't pitched for Tacoma since being demoted. Now dealing with a shoulder issue, the 28-year-old will return to the big-league club to rehab his injury. He'll be eligible to return from the IL as soon as he's healthy, but there's currently no telling how close he is to activation.

  • Grant Anderson RP | MIL

Brewers' Grant Anderson: Slated for rehab assignment

Anderson (ankle) is slated to pitch one inning in a rehab appearance for Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Anderson landed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 25 due to right ankle tendinitis, but the 28-year-old reliever is progressing well in his recovery and shouldn't require an extended stay on the shelf. Before being deactivated, Anderson posted a 2.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:27 K:BB across 62.2 innings this season.

  • Ryan Brasier RP | CHC

Cubs' Ryan Brasier: Cleared for rehab assignment

Brasier (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Brasier has missed the last couple weeks of action after tweaking his groin, but he's ready to test things out in a game setting. Because the absence has been brief, Brasier shouldn't require more than one or two rehab outings before being activated from the 15-day injured list.

  • Max Lazar RP | PHI

Phillies' Max Lazar: Back up in majors

The Phillies recalled Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

Lazar will join the Philadelphia bullpen as a replacement for Daniel Robert (forearm), who was placed on the injured list. The right-handed Lazar has made 28 relief appearances for the Phillies in 2025, posting a 4.78 while managing just 21 strikeouts over 32 frames.

  • Daniel Robert RP | PHI

Phillies' Daniel Robert: Out with forearm strain

The Phillies placed Robert on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to a right forearm strain.

He'll be eligible to return Sept. 17, but the nature of the injury points to Robert's season potentially being over. Robert holds a 4.15 ERA and 15:10 K:BB over 13 innings out of the bullpen for Philadelphia.

  • Zak Kent RP | CLE

Guardians' Zak Kent: Sent back to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Kent to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Kent is clearing out to make room on the roster for Joey Cantillo , who was recalled from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game in Boston. The righty has made nine relief appearances with the big club this season, allowing five runs with a 9:6 K:BB across 9.2 innings.

  • Joey Cantillo RP | CLE

Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Summoned ahead of start

The Guardians recalled Cantillo from Triple-A Columbus ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Boston.

The left-hander has offered a mixed bag with the Guardians this season, posting a 3.93 ERA and 80:36 K:BB over 66.1 frames covering eight starts and 21 relief appearances. The Guardians haven't indicated whether Cantillo's appointment to the rotation will be a permanent one, as his performance against the Red Sox may play a big part in determining whether he makes additional starts, gets moved to the bullpen or optioned back to Triple-A.

  • Chase Silseth RP | LAA

Angels' Chase Silseth: Heading to Triple-A

The Angels optioned Silseth to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

He's being sent out to make room on the active roster for Wednesday's starting pitcher, Caden Dana, who was recalled from Salt Lake. Silseth didn't allow a run over his three relief appearances for the Angels following his Aug. 24 call-up.
