  • Kevin Herget RP | NYM

Mets' Kevin Herget: Loses roster spot

Herget was designated for assignment by the Mets on Thursday, Manny Gomez of NJ.com reports.

Herget has spent nearly the entire 2025 season with Triple-A Syracuse, so the move won't affect where he is pitching, assuming he passes through waivers unclaimed. Jose Castillo was added to the roster in the corresponding move.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Notches save No. 7

Iglesias picked up the save Thursday against Washington, allowing one hit with no strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning.

It was a much-needed clean outing for Iglesias, who had surrendered a run in each of his last three appearances and had blown two of his previous four save chances. The 35-year-old has been uncharacteristically bad in 2025, posting a 5.71 ERA in 17.1 innings after notching a sub-3.00 ERA in his last five seasons, including a 1.95 ERA across 69.1 regular-season innings in 2024.

  • Jose Castillo RP | NYM

Mets' Jose Castillo: Headed to New York

Castillo was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Mets in exchange for cash Thursday, Manny Gomez of NJ.com reports.

Castillo was cast off Arizona's 40-man roster Monday but found a new home quickly. He has only 46.2 innings in the majors since debuting in 2018, so he'll likely fill a depth role in his new organization.

  • Joe Mantiply RP | TOR

Diamondbacks' Joe Mantiply: Shuttled back to minors

Mantiply was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Mantiply has struggled mightily in the majors this season, allowing multiple earned runs in half of his 10 appearances. He'll head back to Reno for the second time and seek to regain the solid form he's showcased for the last few campaigns.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Set to resume throwing

Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Treinen (forearm) will begin playing catch within the next few days, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Treinen is pain free and is on the cusp of starting up his throwing program. He'll still have a lengthy ramp-up period, but he may be able to return in mid-June, when he is first eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list.

  • Rangers' Caleb Boushley: Shuttled back to minors

Boushley was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Boushley has split the season almost exactly evenly between the majors and Round Rock. He threw 2.1 shutout innings Wednesday and has allowed only one earned run across his last 8.1 frames in the majors. Cole Winn was called up in a corresponding move.

  • Miguel Castro RP | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Castro: Traded to White Sox

The Astros traded Castro to the White Sox on Thursday in exchange for cash, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Castro signed a minor-league deal with Houston during the offseason and has started the Triple-A season with a 2.29 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 19.2 innings. The 30-year-old will now join a White Sox organization searching for answers in its bullpen, and his hot start in the minors figures to give him a decent chance at joining the South Siders relatively soon.

  • Luis Mey RP | CIN

Reds' Luis Mey: Strong start to MLB career

Mey struck out two and didn't allow a baserunner in a scoreless inning during Thursday's 7-1 win against the White Sox.

Mey has allowed just one run with an 11:3 K:BB across 7.1 innings since being promoted May 1. The 23-year-old righty has recorded one hold but has mostly pitched in lower-leverage spots so far, though he could work his way into the high-leverage mix if he can continue delivering strong performances. Journeyman Emilio Pagan has taken over the closer role with Alexis Diaz demoted to Triple-A, and if Pagan stumbles, Mey could have an outside shot at seeing save chances later in the season.

  • Bryse Wilson RP | PHI

White Sox's Bryse Wilson: Hit hard by Reds

Wilson (0-2) took the loss Thursday against Cincinnati, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Wilson made his fifth consecutive appearance at the back end of an injury-depleted White Sox rotation, and he allowed his most hits and runs in an outing this season, including three solo home runs. Since stepping into the rotation, Wilson has posted a 6.86 ERA across 21 innings. He's tentatively scheduled for a start next week against the Mariners.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Optioned to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Feyereisen allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk over two innings during his brief time with the big club. He's being replaced on the roster by Justin Wrobleski.
