Mason Thompson: Enters free agency
Thompson (biceps) cleared waivers Wednesday and elected free agency.
Thompson appeared in 14 games for the Nationals this year, giving up 14 earned runs over just 10.2 innings. He ended the regular season on the injured list due to biceps tendinitis, though he is expected to be fully recovered by the time spring training begins. His next gig will likely come in the form of a minor-league contract.

Eduardo Salazar RP | WAS
Eduardo Salazar: Becomes free agent
Salazar cleared waivers Wednesday and elected free agency.
Salazar was one of four players that the Nationals booted off their 40-man roster after the end of the regular season, and he will now begin the offseason looking for a new opportunity. The 27-year-old righty turned in an unsightly 8.38 ERA and 2.17 WHIP across 29 innings in the big leagues this season, so he will most likely have to settle for a minor-league pact.

Ian Gibaut RP | CIN
Reds' Ian Gibaut: Activated, outrighted to Louisville
The Reds reinstated Gibaut (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and sent him outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Gibaut posted a 4.62 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 25.1 regular-season innings this year before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in late August. He has enough service time necessary to reject his assignment and enter free agency, though it's unknown what his plans are.

Tanner Scott RP | LAD
Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Left off World Series roster
Scott (lower body) is not on the Dodgers' World Series roster.
Scott underwent a lower-body abscess procedure earlier this month and has not made an appearance this postseason. The reliever had resumed throwing and was hoping to be added to the roster for the Fall Classic, but the Dodgers have decided against it.

Dodgers' Alex Vesia: Left off World Series roster
Vesia (personal) is not on the Dodgers' World Series roster.
Vesia is away from the club while tending to a personal family matter. Per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, Vesia will not be placed on the family medical emergency list, which means he's ineligible to added to the Dodgers' World Series roster at a later date.

Connor Brogdon RP | LAA
Connor Brogdon: Becomes free agent
Brogdon cleared waivers Thursday and elected free agency.
Brogdon posted a 5.55 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 47 innings with the Angels this season -- both career worsts among seasons he pitched at least 40 frames. He should be able to land another contract during the offseason, though he doesn't project to serve as anything more than bullpen depth in 2026.

Carson Fulmer RP | LAA
Carson Fulmer: Elects free agency
Fulmer (elbow) cleared waivers Thursday and elected free agency.
Fulmer turned in a 5.83 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 29.1 innings with the Angels this year before a right elbow strain put an early end to his season in August. The 31-year-old will now have the freedom to choose where he begins the 2026 campaign, though he will likely have to settle for a minor-league pact this winter.

Alex Vesia RP | LAD
Dodgers' Alex Vesia: Away from team
The Dodgers announced Thursday that Vesia is away from the team for personal reasons.
The Dodgers have yet to finalize their roster for the World Series, and it's unclear whether Vesia's situation will prevent him from pitching in the Fall Classic against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old southpaw has allowed two earned runs and struck out four batters across 4.2 innings during Los Angeles' postseason run.
