Clarke (3-6) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Tuesday versus the Tigers.

Clarke gave up back-to-back solo home runs to Akil Baddoo and Parker Meadows in the eighth inning, and he couldn't settle down after that. Jackson Kowar later allowed an inherited runner to score. Clarke has taken on a share of the closing committee in Kansas City, but the numbers haven't been pretty -- he has an 8.64 ERA over 8.1 innings in September and a 5.90 ERA with a 1.60 WHIP and 65:24 K:BB through 58 innings overall. The reliever has added three saves, 12 holds and three blown saves.

Karinchak (2-5) allowed a run on two hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Tuesday versus the Reds.

Karinchak had posted 3.2 scoreless innings over his first four appearances back in the majors before faltering in the fifth inning Tuesday. The right-hander is now at a 3.29 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 52:25 K:BB with 13 holds and two blown saves over 38.1 innings this season. Karinchak is mostly seeing low-leverage work to finish the campaign.

Silseth (concussion) is scheduled to return from the 7-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Athletics at Angel Stadium, MLB.com reports.

Silseth's availability for the rest of the season looked to be in question after he suffered a concussion Aug. 26 when he was struck on the head by an errant throw, but he cleared up any concerns about his health by making rehab starts with Triple-A Salt Lake on Sept. 17 and 22. In his most recent outing with Salt Lake this past weekend, Silseth tossed 60 pitches and 3.1 scoreless innings, so he should be capable of giving the Angels something close to a traditional start as he steps back into the rotation for the final series of the season.

Vines is listed as Atlanta's probable starter pitcher for Wednesday's home game against the Cubs.

Atlanta's rotation depth has been tested in the final week of the season with Max Fried (finger) and Charlie Morton (finger) recently landing on the injured list and with Kyle Wright getting moved to the bullpen, so Vines will get the chance to make his second career big-league start. Since limiting the Rockies to two runs over six innings in his MLB debut Aug. 30, Vines has made his last three appearances with Atlanta as a reliever, pitching to a 5.40 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 4:4 K:BB over 8.1 innings. Though his long-term outlook is promising, Vines may not make for an appealing streaming option Wednesday, given that his innings could be managed carefully along with the fact that he'll be facing off against a Cubs squad that is still looking to clinch a wild-card spot.

Patino is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Prior to being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sept. 1, Patino had made five starts for the White Sox's top minor-league affiliate, but he never covered more than four innings in any of those outings. He's since worked exclusively in relief following his call-up, topping out at four innings and 66 pitches over five appearances. Given his recent workloads, Patino might not be stretched out enough to reach the five innings he would need to qualify for a win even if he's economical with his pitch count. The White Sox have another multi-inning reliever in Deivi Garcia available on six days' rest, and he may be a better bet than Patino to qualify for a win if Chicago requires some length out of the bullpen.

Iglesias picked up the save Tuesday against the Cubs. He allowed one hit while striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Iglesias worked around Cody Bellinger's one-out single, striking out Seiya Suzuki and Dansby Swanson to close out a one-run victory. The 33-year-old Iglesias had a shaky start to the month, allowing seven runs (four earned) while blowing a pair of saves in his prior eight appearances. Still, he's had a solid campaign overall, as Iglesias improved to 31-for-35 in save chances with a 2.85 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66 strikeouts over 53.2 innings.

Suero (back) was activated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Suero is over his back issue following a two-week absence but will not join the major-league roster. The 32-year-old reliever holds a 7.88 ERA over five appearances during his time with the Dodgers this season.

Fairbanks struck out the side without allowing a baserunner to earn the save Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Fairbanks entered the game having blown his last two save chances while allowing three earned runs across two innings of work. He returned to dominance Tuesday, however, striking out all three batters he faced on swinging strikes. Despite his recent struggles, Fairbanks has racked up an impressive 68:19 K:BB while maintaining a 2.64 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 44.1 innings.

Cano picked up the save in Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Washington. He struck out three in a perfect ninth inning.

The 29-year-old was called upon to protect the slimmest of margins Tuesday and did so in dominant fashion, getting Lane Thomas, Keibert Ruiz and Joey Meneses to strike out swinging on just 13 pitches. Since Baltimore closer Felix Bautista (elbow) landed on the injured list Aug. 26, Cano has surrendered six of the 17 earned runs he's given up all year, seeing his season-long ERA increase from 1.60 to 2.13 across 10.2 innings. The right-hander has, however, converted four of his five save opportunities and notched two holds in that span.

Kinley recorded his fifth save of the season in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, giving up a hit and striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

All five of Kinley's saves have come in September, as the 32-year-old righty has fallen into the closer role after a number of other relievers spit the bit. He's been marginally effective, blowing only one of six save chances while being scored upon in two of nine appearances on the month, leaving him with a 4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings. Depending on what reinforcements Colorado adds to its bullpen over the winter, Kinley could head into spring training next year as the favorite to retain the closing job.
