    Phillies' Jhoan Duran: Converts 20th save

    Duran notched the save in Sunday's 4-2 win at Texas, allowing one hit and no walks in a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

    The 27-year-old flamethrower worked around a one-out single to secure his third save since joining Philadelphia at the trade deadline. This marks the third consecutive season Duran has reached the 20-save plateau, as he remains one of the game's elite relievers. Through 53.1 total innings with the Phillies and Twins, the right-hander has pitched to a 1.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 56:18 K:BB.

    White Sox's Elvis Peguero: Set to operate as opener Monday

    Peguero will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Tigers, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.

    After being claimed off waivers from the Brewers on Aug. 3, Peguero was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday and will make his White Sox debut Monday in what will be his first MLB start. The right-hander will likely be limited to just one or two innings before turning the ball over to lefty Tyler Alexander, who is expected to pitch in bulk relief.

    Orioles' Albert Suarez: Ready for rehab assignment

    Suarez (shoulder) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday or Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

    The Orioles have yet to decide which affiliate Suarez will join for his rehab assignment, but the 35-year-old righty is ready to test himself in a game setting after he recently completed multiple live sessions without issue. Suarez has been on the shelf since March 30 due to a right subscapularis strain. so he may be in store for a lengthy rehab assignment, especially if the Orioles choose to have him get stretched out as a starter.

  • Cardinals' Gordon Graceffo: Heading back to Triple-A

    The Cardinals optioned Graceffo to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

    Graceffo is the casualty from the 26-man active roster after St. Louis needed to clear a spot for right-hander Jorge Alcala, who was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox. During his latest stint in the big leagues, Graceffo made four appearances out of the St. Louis bullpen and gave up six earned runs on 10 hits and two walks over 6.1 innings.

    Luis Frias: Cut loose by Cleveland

    The Guardians released Frias on Sunday.

    Frias had seen big-league action in each of the prior four seasons but never received a call-up to Cleveland in 2025 after inking a minor-league pact with the organization over the winter. The 27-year-old righty tossed 36 innings out of the bullpen at Triple-A Columbus this season and logged a 3.00 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB.

    White Sox's Grant Taylor: Tallies fourth save

    Taylor picked up the save in Sunday's 6-4 win against Cleveland, pitching a clean inning with one strikeout.

    The flamethrowing right-hander secured his first save since July 4 with this succinct, eight-pitch effort. Since that date, Taylor had been respectable in 9.2 frames across nine appearances with a 3.72 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB. Since July 4, the White Sox have notched only four saves as a team -- Jordan Leasure with two and Dan Altavilla and Steven Wilson with one apiece. The Chicago closer race is still wide open, and Taylor, who now owns a 3.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB over 23 total innings, remains one of the better high-leverage options for manager Will Venable.

  • Braves' Domingo Gonzalez: Kicked off 40-man roster

    Atlanta designated Gonzalez for assignment Sunday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

    He'll surrender his spot on the 40-man roster to waiver claim Connor Seabold. A 25-year-old right-hander, Gonzalez has yet to make his MLB debut and has spent the entire 2025 season at Triple-A Gwinnett, logging a 3.95 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB in 41 innings out of the bullpen.

    Braves' Connor Seabold: Finds home with Atlanta

    Atlanta claimed Seabold off waivers from Tampa Bay on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

    Though he'll report to Triple-A, Seabold will provide Atlanta with organizational starting pitching depth as the big club navigates numerous injuries to its rotation. Seabold made a pair of multi-inning relief appearances for Tampa Bay but has primarily worked out of the rotation at Triple-A Durham this season, logging a 6.49 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 57:26 K:BB across 61 innings.

    White Sox's Elvis Peguero: Summoned from Charlotte

    The White Sox recalled Peguero from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

    Claimed off waivers from Milwaukee last weekend, Peguero was optioned to Charlotte but will now move up to the majors after making just one Triple-A appearance. The 28-year-old righty previously made six appearances out of the Milwaukee bullpen this season, logging a 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 7.1 innings.

    White Sox's Cam Booser: Moves up from Triple-A

    The White Sox recalled Booser from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

    Chicago summoned Booser and Elvis Peguero from Charlotte to provide fresh bullpen arms in place of Bryan Hudson and Wikelman Gonzalez. Over 24.2 innings in the majors this season, Booser has posted a 5.11 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB.
