The Brewers placed Wilson on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right oblique strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Wilson evidently must have tweaked his oblique at some point during a 3.1-inning relief appearance in Sunday's extra-innings loss to the Reds. He will be eligible to return Sept. 17, but it's not yet clear whether he will have a chance to be ready by that date.

The Marlins recalled Maldonado from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Maldonado is back with the Marlins after spending the past two months with Jacksonville. The 26-year-old has made 11 appearances in the majors this season and has a 6.23 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB across 13 innings.

The Brewers optioned Hudson to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The move looks odd on the surface, as Hudson boasts a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings this season and had turned in four straight scoreless appearances. However, his velocity has been trending in the wrong direction and the Brewers want to see him get that ticked back up in a less pressurized environment.

The Brewers activated Milner (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Milner recently made two scoreless rehab appearances to clear the way for his return to the Brewers' bullpen. He has been sidelined since mid-August due to a left shoulder impingement.

The Pirates claimed Wentz off waivers from the Tigers on Tuesday.

Wentz was used as a full-time reliever this season for the first time, holding a 5.37 ERA and 60:27 K:BB over 55.1 innings. The left-hander is under team control through 2029 and is still just 26, so the Pirates thought he was worth a shot. Wentz is out of minor-league options, so he will report directly to the major-league club.

Coulombe (elbow) threw live batting practice Tuesday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

It's the first time he's faced hitters since he underwent surgery in June to remove bone chips from his left elbow. Coulombe would appear close to a rehab assignment and is expected back in the Orioles' bullpen later this month.

Taylor (bicep) resumed a normal throwing progression in July and appears close to beginning live bullpen sessions, MLB.com reports.

Taylor has been on the injured list all season due to left bicep soreness, an injury that cropped up while he was warming up for a March 17 Cactus League appearance. The lefty was later diagnosed with a musculocutaneous nerve injury that kept him from throwing for about four months, but he seems to have avoided any setbacks since he resumed playing catch. The Royals are still optimistic that Taylor can return from the IL before the end of the season, but he'll likely need to start facing hitters within the next week or two for that to be a reality.

The Marlins claimed Bachar off waivers from the Padres on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bachar was designated for assignment by the Padres over the weekend without having made an appearance with the big club. The 29-year-old right-hander has collected a 3.89 ERA and 85:32 K:BB over 71.2 innings this season at Triple-A El Paso.

Harvey (back) threw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Harvey was shut down for a bit after experiencing a setback with his back injury, but he's made enough progress to resume throwing. The reliever has missed nearly a month of action and might require a rehab appearance or two before rejoining the Royals bullpen.

Alexander (shoulder) came away from Monday's live batting practice session feeling healthy, MLB.com reports.

The veteran left-hander continued to make steady progress Monday, with the live BP session coming on the heels of a successful bullpen Friday. Alexander's next step is almost certainly a rehab assignment, with a decision on that front likely coming by Wednesday.
