  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Recalled to Pittsburgh

The Pirates recalled Stratton from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

After being sent down to Indianapolis in early May, Stratton turned in a 2.08 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 13 innings. He'll now be called upon to serve as a bullpen replacement for Ryan Borucki (back), who was placed on the injured list Saturday.

Pirates' Ryan Borucki: Lands on IL

The Pirates placed Borucki on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a lower-back injury, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Borucki's back forced him to make an early exit from Friday's contest, and it will now also keep him sidelined for at least the next 15 days. Hunter Stratton was brought up in a corresponding move to replenish the Pirates' bullpen depth.

  • Austin Cox RP | ATL

Braves' Austin Cox: Back in Atlanta

Atlanta recalled Cox from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

With Chris Sale (ribs) headed to the injured list, Atlanta will bring up Cox to provide the club with some extra bullpen depth. The 28-year-old southpaw hasn't appeared in an MLB game yet this year, but he owns a 4.05 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 26.2 innings split between Atlanta's and Kansas City's Triple-A affiliates.

  • Erik Miller RP | SF

Giants' Erik Miller: Scoreless outing Friday

Miller tossed two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox, allowing no runs while striking out one.

After Sean Hjelle gave up a home run and a single in the sixth inning, Miller entered with one out and retired the next two batters to end the frame. The left-hander threw five of his 10 pitches for strikes. Miller has yet to allow a run in June and now owns a 1.07 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 18:18 K:BB with nine holds across 25.1 innings in 31 games this season.

  • Giants' Spencer Bivens: Fans two in defeat

Bivens struck out two in a perfect ninth inning during Friday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Bivens threw 14 pitches (nine strikes) to retire the side and keep the deficit at two runs. The 30-year-old has recorded a 2.79 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB over 9.2 innings in six appearances during June. Overall, Bivens owns a 3.11 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 37.2 innings in 23 games this season.

  • Ryan Walker RP | SF

Giants' Ryan Walker: Fans two in scoreless outing

Walker struck out two across 1.2 scoreless innings in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox.

The right-hander entered in relief of Joey Lucchesi with one out in the seventh and struck out the next two batters to end the inning. Walker then recorded three consecutive outs in the eighth to end his outing, throwing 15 of his 20 pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old has allowed just one run over his last five appearances and now owns a 4.20 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 30:8 K:BB across 30 innings in 32 games this season.

  • Janson Junk RP | MIA

Marlins' Janson Junk: Five strong innings in win

Junk (2-0) picked up the win after throwing five innings, allowing one run on five hits and no walks while striking out five during Friday's 6-2 win against Atlanta.

Junk has worked in bulk relief, but this was his first true start since 2023. His task was keeping a dangerous Atlanta lineup in check, and he turned in a great performance over five innings of work. Together with his last outing, the 29-year-old is 2-0 and has thrown 10.2 innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts. With Max Meyer on the shelf with a hip injury, Junk might have earned himself more starts. This spot in the rotation is next scheduled to come up with the Marlins on the road at the Giants.

  • Josh Simpson RP | SEA

Marlins' Josh Simpson: Selected from Triple-A

The Marlins selected Simpson's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Simpson will join the Marlins' bullpen after logging a 3.41 ERA and 1.03 WHIP across 31.2 innings in Triple-A. He'll likely work in middle relief while in Miami, and he will replace Robinson Pina on both the 26-man and 40-man rosters.

  • Nate Pearson RP | HOU

Cubs' Nate Pearson: Recalled from Iowa

The Cubs recalled Pearson from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Since being optioned to Triple-A in mid-April, Pearson has turned in a 2.22 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 24.1 innings. His turnaround will buy him another shot in the Cubs' bullpen, where he will replace Genesis Cabrera, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Luis Mey RP | CIN

Reds' Luis Mey: Sent back to Louisville

The Reds optioned Mey to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday

Mey gave up one run in 1.1 innings during his outing Thursday, and he'll now be sent back to the minors in favor of Chase Petty. Mey owns a 4.40 ERA and 1.26 WHIP through 14.1 frames in the big leagues this season and will likely be back with the Reds down the line.
