Gsellman struck out one while earning the save Thursday, hitting a batter and allowing a hit in a scoreless inning in the win over Atlanta.

The 25-year-old allowed a leadoff single to Kurt Suzuki and later hit Adam Duvall but managed to finish off the game before giving up a run. Gsellman is now 13-for-20 in save chances and has been anything but consistent this season for the Mets.

Yates fired a perfect inning with two strikeouts and a save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

Yates' career year continued with his sixth consecutive save and 12th since taking over as closer after the All-Star break. The 31-year-old has been one of the bigger reliever surprises this season, posting a 2.07 ERA and 12.7 K/9 in addition to his second-half save contributions.

Pivetta (7-14) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings against the Rockies.

It was a rocky outing all the way for Pivetta, but he was done in by a poor fifth inning with a couple of walks, a double and a home run. The 25-year-old had a strong couple of months to start the season and seemed to turn a corner of late with three or fewer runs allowed in five straight outings entering Wednesday, but he'll now wrap up his sophomore campaign with a 4.77 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Minter has been working on his mechanics recently after losing his release point early in August following a back strain, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. "Yeah, I've been struggling this past month," Minter said. "I'm just trying to find it again. I'm trying to be consistent and find that release point. That's the biggest thing."

The southpaw hasn't felt any discomfort in his back since resting for a few days in late August, but he also hasn't been consistent on the mound, posting a 3.48 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB in 10.1 innings over his last 10 appearances. Arodys Vizcaino will serve as the Braves' primary closer over the final days of the regular season as Minter focuses on finding his release point again and getting ready for the playoffs.

Smith was charged with a blown save Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one over an inning of work against the Padres.

Tasked with protecting a one-run lead, Smith struck out the first batter he faced before allowing a double and game-tying single to take his first blown save since Aug. 24. Despite the blip, the 29-year-old sports an impressive 1.90 ERA and 12.1 K/9 on the season.

Boxberger allowed one run on two hits over one inning Tuesday, blowing the save but picking up the win against the Dodgers.

Boxberger was called on to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning, but he allowed a single and double to the first two batters he faced to allow the game-tying run to score. He'd eventually be bailed out by Eduardo Escobar's walkoff home run in the ninth inning. Boxberger had been removed from the closer role earlier in the month, but with replacement Yoshihisa Hirano allowing five runs over his last three innings, it appears the ninth-inning situation in Arizona may again be in flux over the final four games of the season.

Koch allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

Koch was called on for a spot start and was only stretched out enough to throw 68 pitches (42 strikes). The righty was serviceable in that role Tuesday, lowering his ERA to 4.15, but if he makes another appearance over the final week of the season, it'll likely be out of the bullpen.

Brigham (0-4) took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits across four innings. He issued four walks while striking out two.

Brigham has now lost all four starts he's made since being called up from Triple-A New Orleans at the start of September, and has completed five innings only once. The 26-year-old has allowed 11 runs on 16 hits and has a 12:13 K:BB over 16.1 innings with the Marlins.

Miller (elbow) is scheduled to throw a 60-pitch simulated game Tuesday, Jack Magruder of The Sports Xchange reports.

Miller has been sidelined since the All-Star break with inflammation in his elbow, but he appears to be on the cusp of a return. If all goes well during the right-hander's simulated outing, he could be cleared to rejoin the Diamondbacks ahead of their three-game series against the Padres that begins Friday.

Nelson (shoulder) continues to throw live bullpen sessions in Arizona, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Nelson has yet to throw in an instructional league game, but the Brewers hope he'll be able to do so before heading into his offseason. The 29-year-old has been throwing bullpen sessions since mid-August. He is hoping to be ready for spring training after missing the entirety of 2018.
