John Brebbia RP | COL
Giants' John Brebbia: Hit with loss
Brebbia (0-1) took his first loss of the year Sunday against the Cardinals after allowing a run on two hits while striking out a batter over an inning.
Brebbia entered in the bottom half of the seventh trying to preserve a 1-1 tie but was unable to do so. He quickly gave up a leadoff double to Matt Carpenter, who eventually came around to score on a single from Harrison Bader. The Giants were unable to score again, giving Brebbia the loss. The 31-year-old hasn't had a ton of exposure this season. He owns a 4.66 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB over 9.2 innings.

Hector Neris RP | HOU
Phillies' Hector Neris: Earns save in series finale
Neris struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save against the Marlins on Sunday.
Ranger Suarez has been used in save situations recently, but he had pitched on each of the last two days and was charged with a blown save Saturday. As a result, Neris was brought on in the ninth inning Sunday to preserve the Phillies' three-run lead, and he picked up his 12th save of the year. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander could be the favorite for closing duties going forward, but it was encouraging to see him earn his first save since June 25 in Sunday's series finale.

Anthony Bender RP | MIA
Marlins' Anthony Bender: Takes first loss Sunday
Bender (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk in one inning to take the loss against the Phillies on Sunday.
Bender picked up his first major-league win July 7, but he's given up at least one run in four of his last five outings. Although the 26-year-old took the first loss of his major-league career Sunday, he's posted a 2.30 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in 31.1 innings across 30 appearances this season.

Brad Hand RP | ATL
Nationals' Brad Hand: Earns fifth win
Hand (5-2) allowed one run on one hit and three walks while striking out three in one inning to earn the win against the Padres on Sunday.
Hand had some issues with command Sunday and threw only 16 of his 31 pitches for strikes. He was charged with the blown save after giving up the one-run lead in the top of the ninth, but he picked up his fifth win of the year after the Nationals came back in the bottom half of the frame. The southpaw has now recorded a 2.61 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 38 innings this year.

Mark Melancon RP | ARI
Padres' Mark Melancon: Charged with loss Sunday
Melancon (2-2) allowed one run on two hits and no walks while striking out one in a third of an inning to take the loss against the Nationals on Sunday.
Melancon has now been charged with two losses since July 1, but he's also picked up two saves and a win during that time. The right-hander should still have plenty of job security as the Padres' closer, but he's posted a 5.40 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in five innings across his six appearances since the start of July.

A.J. Minter RP | NYM
Braves' A.J. Minter: Optioned to Triple-A
Minter was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.
Minter was charged with the loss and the blown save against the Rays on Sunday after he allowed two runs on two hits and no walks in a third of an inning. He's now given up three runs in one inning across his two appearances after the All-Star break, and he'll attempt to sort things out in the minors going forward.

Phil Bickford RP | DET
Dodgers' Phil Bickford: Blows save chance Sunday
Bickford (0-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit in two-thirds of an inning Sunday, blowing the save in extra innings against the Rockies.
Bickford came on to protect a 5-4 lead in the 10th inning but gave up a Trevor Story sacrifice fly that tied the game before yielding a walk-off homer to Charlie Blackmon. Bickford was handed the extra-innings save opportunity after closer Kenley Jansen was unable to nail down the save in the ninth. The 26-year-old Bickford owns a 3.04 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 25 relief outings this season, with all but one of those appearances coming after he was acquired from the Brewers.

Trevor May RP | ATH
Mets' Trevor May: Converts second save
May allowed a walk and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Sunday's 7-6 win over Pittsburgh.
Edwin Diaz yielded a walkoff grand slam in Saturday's contest, and May got the nod for a save chance Sunday. May did well to lock down his second save this season, and he's posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 46:12 K:BB through 34.2 innings. He's also collected seven holds and two blown saves in 37 appearances. With Diaz shaky around the All-Star break, there may be chances for the likes of May or Seth Lugo to receive more ninth-inning duties from manager Luis Rojas going forward.

Genesis Cabrera RP | PHI
Cardinals' Genesis Cabrera: Bouncing back from rough stretch
Cabrera, who secured his 13th hold in Saturday's win over the Giants, has back-to-back scoreless efforts following a three-appearance stretch during which he surrendered seven earned runs across 2.2 innings.
The normally reliable left-hander came unglued in that early July stretch, giving up three earned runs apiece on two separate occasions. However, Cabrera was able to right his ship in his last appearance before the All-Star break with a scoreless frame against the Cubs, and he came back Saturday with a scoreless two-thirds of an inning versus the Giants. Cabrera's 13 holds are comfortably a career high and have made him a valuable asset in formats that count that statistic.

Alex Reyes RP | LAD
Cardinals' Alex Reyes: Notches 21st save
Reyes pitched a scoreless ninth inning on one hit and a walk while striking out one, earning the save against the Giants on Saturday.
Reyes bounced back with a scoreless save after surrendering three runs in his last two appearances. Despite his recent uncertainty, he is the only closer with more than five saves that hasn't blown at least one save opportunity this season. His 21 saves are tied for third-most in all of baseball. The 26-year-old has a 1.49 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP in 42.1 innings. His WHIP is inflated even with the success due to his high 7.0 BB/9.
