Duran worked around a two-out single to close out the 4-3 victory. He needed just 13 pitches to convert the save and is now 18-for-19 in save opportunities this season. Since his lone blown save chance in Oakland on June 21, Duran has a 3-2 record with seven saves and a 2.60 ERA through 19 appearances. For the year, he owns a 3.35 ERA and a 43:12 K:BB across 40.1 innings.

Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Secures 23rd save
Jansen picked up the save in Friday's 12-10 victory over Baltimore, pitching a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
The veteran closer extended his scoreless appearances streak to five with this performance, retiring the side on a tidy 12 pitches. Jansen stands fourth all-time in career saves with 442, but he requires 37 more to pass Lee Smith for third place. After struggling in August with two blown saves and a 5.40 ERA over 10 innings, the Boston right-hander appears to have righted the ship and sports a 2.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 51:15 K:BB across 43 frames this season.

All that momentum evaporated when Corbin Carroll popped a two-run homer with two outs to tie the game, saddling Fairbanks with his third blown save of the season. The flamethrowing righty sports a 3.02 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 42:16 K:BB across 44.2 innings on the year.

Dominic Leone RP | CHW
White Sox's Dominic Leone: Has UCL sprain, done for season
The White Sox diagnosed Leone with a UCL sprain in his right elbow and placed him on the 60-day injured list Friday.
Leone was lifted from Wednesday's game with soreness in his right elbow and further testing revealed he suffered a UCL sprain. Instead of attempting to rush him back during the closing weeks of a lost season, the White Sox opted to place Leone on the 60-day injured list, ending his 2024 campaign. The 32-year-old appeared in 23 games for Chicago, logging a 6.63 ERA and 17:14 K:BB across 19.0 innings. Matt Foster (elbow) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Beau Brieske RP | DET
Tigers' Beau Brieske: Serving as opener Friday
Brieske will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher in Friday's game against the Yankees, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
It's the third straight assignment as an opener for Brieske, and he went a combined 4.1 scoreless innings in the first two. The former starter is capable of going deeper into games than most openers, but the role still limits his fantasy utility. Brant Hurter is a likely candidate for bulk relief Friday.

Tim Mayza RP | PHI
Yankees' Tim Mayza: Set for Yankees debut
Mayza signed a major-league contract with the Yankees on Friday and was selected to the 26-man roster.
Mayza inked a minor-league deal with the Yankees on July 10 and has since been pitching for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a 2.16 ERA across 8.1 innings. The left-hander shouldn't be expected to handle high-leverage work in what will be his first MLB action since being designated for assignment by the Blue Jays in late June.

Tigers' Easton Lucas: Dropped from 40-man roster
The Tigers designated Lucas for assignment Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 27-year-old has a 10.29 ERA in MLB this season but posted a 3.51 ERA across 33.1 innings with Triple-A Toledo, where he'll likely remain if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
