Jack Little RP | PIT
Tigers' Jack Little: Designated for assignment
Little was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Claimed off waivers from the Pirates earlier this month, Little ended up spending less than two weeks on the Tigers' 40-man roster. Little will now be subjected to waivers once again after spending the 2025 season primarily at the Triple-A level, making just a pair of relief appearances with the Dodgers over the summer.

Sean Guenther RP | DET
Tigers' Sean Guenther: Dumped from 40-man roster
Guenther (hip) was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Left hip surgery ended Guenther's season in early July after he made nine appearances (one start) with the big-league club over the first two months of the campaign. The left-hander put an impressive 0.86 ERA and 0.52 WHIP in 21 innings out of the Detroit bullpen during the 2024 regular season, and that run of success may be enough to land him on another team's 40-man roster.

Jason Foley RP | DET
Tigers' Jason Foley: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Tigers designated Foley (shoulder) for assignment Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Widely considered the favorite to close for Detroit entering 2025 spring training, Foley didn't even end up making it to Opening Day, with the Tigers choosing instead to send him to Triple-A Toledo. A right shoulder strain then put Foley on the injured list just weeks into the campaign, leading to season-ending arthroscopic surgery in May. While Foley resumed throwing before the end of the regular season, his status for the start of the 2026 season is uncertain.

Dugan Darnell RP | COL
Tigers' Dugan Darnell: Removed from 40-man roster
Darnell (hip) was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Darnell received his first big-league call-up in August and made nine appearances with the Rockies before landing on the injured list with left hip inflammation. Surgery was deemed necessary, and Darnell has since jumped to Pittsburgh and Detroit on waivers. He will be subjected to the waiver process once again after being DFA'd.

Chris Murphy RP | CHW
White Sox's Chris Murphy: Dealt to White Sox
The Red Sox traded Murphy to the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Ronny Hernandez, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Murphy was effective as a big-league reliever in 2025, finishing the regular season with a 3.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 34.2 innings. The White Sox aren't working with much depth in their bullpen, so the 27-year-old left-hander could see regular work in high-leverage opportunities with his new organization.

Josh Winckowski RP | BOS
Red Sox's Josh Winckowski: Booted from 40-man roster
The Red Sox designated Winckowski (elbow) for assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
The move frees up a spot on Boston's 40-man roster. Winckowski made just six appearances for the Red Sox in 2025, as he spent time in the minors and also missed a large chunk of action with a flexor strain. It's unclear what Winckowski's current health status is. The 27-year-old has a career 4.20 ERA and 195:89 K:BB across 242.1 innings.

Luis Guerrero RP | BOS
Rays' Luis Guerrero: Dealt to Rays
The Rays acquired Guerrero from the Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Tristan Gray.
Guerrero was outrighted off Boston's 40-man roster last week after passing through waivers unclaimed, but now he's on the move to a new organization. The right-hander holds a 2.63 ERA but a 19:16 K:BB across 27.1 frames covering parts of two major-league seasons. Guerrero has a big arm and the Rays will now be tasked with getting him to throw more strikes, which is something they've had success with as an organization with other hurlers.

Robinson Ortiz RP | SEA
Mariners' Robinson Ortiz: Traded to Seattle
Ortiz was traded from the Dodgers to the Mariners in exchange for minor-league pitcher Tyler Gough (elbow) on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Ortiz was just added to Los Angeles' 40-man roster Nov. 6, but he will now head to the Mariners organization. The left-hander began the 2025 campaign with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, but he was able to work his way all the way up to Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 2.76 ERA with 14 strikeouts over 15 appearances, including one start, with OKC. Ortiz will look to compete for a spot in the major-league bullpen when Seattle regroups at spring training in February.

Nick Sandlin RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Nick Sandlin: Removed from 40-man
Sandlin (elbow) cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Buffalo, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Sandlin was effective in the big leagues in 2025, turning in a 2.20 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 16.1 regular-season innings with the Jays. However, right elbow inflammation sent him to the injured list in early July, and multiple setbacks in his recovery prevented him from returning. The 28-year-old righty will likely elect free agency and could attract significant attention after posting a 3.19 ERA through his first five MLB seasons.

Brian Van Belle RP | TB
Rays' Brian Van Belle: Outrighted after clearing waivers
The Rays outrighted Van Belle (elbow) to Triple-A Durham on Thursday.
Van Belle was diagnosed with a UCL sprain in September, and Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the righty had surgery and will miss all of the 2026 season. It's unclear what specific procedure he had, but if it was Tommy John, it would be the second of his career. Van Belle will remain in the organization while he rehabs.
