Matt Moore to begin throwing soon, aiming for May return

Rays pitcher Matt Moore is recovering as expected from Tommy John surgery, and he told MLB.com Thursday he could begin a throwing program soon.

Moore is aiming for a May 2015 return to the majors, after missing all but two starts this season while recovering. Though he did add he might hit the brakes in his recovery a bit, if he feels rushed at the beginning of next season.

"If it was June, honestly, I think it would be best for all parties," he added. "Our squad in general and myself, just to make sure that we're not trying to get to May [and rushing things]."
