  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Yankees' Chad Green: Scheduled for start in San Diego

Green will be recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start Sunday's game against the Padres, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

The Yankees will push C.C. Sabathia's scheduled start back to Monday against the White Sox, thereby keeping the veteran lefty out of the batter's box and off the basepaths. Though he's only thrown five innings in the majors, the 25-year-old Green is enjoying a fantastic season at the Triple-A level, boasting a 1.54 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 82:19 K:BB through 81.2 innings (14 starts). He'll likely be sent back down after his start, but the matchup in San Diego is undoubtedly favorable.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Pitches well in return from DL

Manaea had a strong return from the DL Thursday, shutting out the Giants over 5.2 innings while striking out four.

This was Manaea's first start since June 13 after hitting the DL with a muscle strain in his forearm. He has shown some nice flashes during this rookie season, but Wednesday was one of his better complete starts as he avoided the big inning that has been plaguing him so far. Manaea is next scheduled to take the hill Tuesday in Minnesota.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rays' Matt Moore: Silences Boston for fourth win

Moore (4-5) twirled seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out six in Wednesday's 4-0 victory over the Red Sox.

The southpaw held the Red Sox hitless through five innings and escaped a key bases-loaded jam in the sixth while outpitching the Rays' former-ace David Price. Moore had been in a similar situation just five days prior to this one when he took a no-hitter into the fifth before falling apart in the sixth. This time, though, he got out of the jam en route to his fourth win of the year. The 27-year-old has tossed seven scoreless innings in two of his last four starts, and has his ERA down to its lowest point since April at 4.67.

  • Rangers' Nick Martinez: Allows five walks in five innings Wednesday

Martinez (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits and five walks while striking out two over five innings, but received no decision Wednesday at the Yankees.

Martinez struggled to find the strike zone, as only 38 of his 84 pitches were called for strikes, however, he was able to hold the Yankees to single runs in the second and sixth innings. Although he was in line for the win, the bullpen gave up six runs in the ninth inning to give him a no decision. He's now walked 10 batters over his last 15.1 innings of work, and his WHIP is at 1.72 on the year. He'll make his next start Monday at the Red Sox.

  • Daniel Norris RP | CLE

Tigers' Daniel Norris: Wins first game of 2016

Norris (1-0) allowed two runs on eight hits over five innings Wednesday against the Marlins. He walked one and struck out eight in the win.

The Marlins sapped 76 pitches out of Norris through three innings, and 100 pitches over five, but never got the big hit they needed. Norris' big escape wasn't a groundout -- he didn't record any until the fourth -- but the strikeout. He stranded two runners in the first with back-to-back called third strikes on Marcell Ozuna and Giancarlo Stanton, then fanned Christian Yelich with two on in the second. Eight of Norris' first 10 outs came by strikeout, five of them called third strikes. The win was his first since his final start of last season. Through three games (two starts) this season, the left-hander has a 4.09 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.

  • Zach Putnam RP | BOS

White Sox's Zach Putnam: Hoping to avoid surgery

Putnam (elbow) is hoping to avoid surgery of any kind, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

An elbow issue finally forced Putnam to the DL on Tuesday, with the official diagnosis from the team being ulnar neuritis. It was something Putnam battled throughout the month of June, limiting him to 4.2 innings over six appearances. The White Sox will take a day-to-day approach to Putnam's recovery.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Reinstated from disabled list Wendesday

Manaea (arm) was reinstated from the 15-day DL on Wednesday.

Manaea is expected to start Wednesday's game against the Giants. The 24-year-old has struggled this season, posting a 6.02 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in nine starts and will now have to face a strong San Francisco lineup.

  • Trevor May RP | ATH

Twins' Trevor May: Records save in second rehab outing

May (back) threw a scoreless inning for a save Tuesday for Triple-A Rochester. He's given up one run in 1.2 innings in two rehab appearances.

It's not clear how long he'll stay in Rochester, but it seems likely he could be activated from the DL next week.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Gives up four runs in no-decision

Graveman allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts in a no-decision Tuesday against the Giants.

Graveman hasn't struck out more than five batters in a single start since May 2 against Seattle. He drew just six swinging strikes in 77 pitches Tuesday night and is struggling to miss bats in a big way. His K/9 is down to 6.2, and his inability to induce whiffs is a big reason why his ERA is so high, now up to 4.84.

  • Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Will pitch Sunday against Pirates

Mengden will start Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.

Rich Hill will come off the disabled list to take the mound on Saturday, which pushes back Mengden's start to Sunday. Mengden has posted a 2.81 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP during 25.2 innings of work this year, including a gem during his last outing Monday (two runs on four hits over 7.2 innings, and had a shutout through seven). The 23-year-old has accumulated an impressive K:BB of 26:9 and will make his fifth career start Sunday.
