Rays' Brad Boxberger: Bullpen session goes well Thursday
Boxberger (oblique) had a successful 15-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The 28-year-old closer suffered no setbacks in the brief session, which came on the heels of him playing catch on Monday for the first time since his latest injury. Already on his second DL stint in 2016, the veteran pitcher was cautiously optimistic following the latest development. "Everything was feeling well," Boxberger said. "I'll progress from there."

Red Sox's Jacob Dahlstrand: Rehabbing in GCL
Dahlstrand (elbow) is rehabbing with the Red Sox's Gulf Coast League affiliate.
He's made two starts since returning to action on June 25, fanning 12 and walking two over 8.2 innings and allowing just one earned runs. It's believed that Dahlstrand will head back to High-A Salem once he's healthy enough to return to the rotation.

Alex Colome RP | CHW
Rays' Alex Colome: Aiming to return early next week
Colome (biceps) is aiming to throw a bullpen session Sunday and return from the DL either Tuesday or Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With his stint retroactive to June 19, Colome could return from the DL just one week after he was formally placed on the DL. However, Colome will need to prove to the training staff that he's 100 percent in order to bypass a minor league rehab assignment. He has reportedly felt good playing catch in recent days and will get more long toss in Friday ahead of Sunday's bullpen.

David Robertson RP | PHI
White Sox's David Robertson: Picks up 21st save Thursday against Twins
Robertson allowed one hit and struck out the side while notching his 21st save in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Twins.
By slamming the door Thursday, Robertson moved into second in the AL for saves -- behind Orioles closer Zach Britton (23). The only knock on the 31-year-old could be his 1.40 WHIP, much of which stems from his unusually high walk rate of 5.23, which comes on the heels of a career-best 1.85 BB/9 in 2015.

Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Gets win Thursday against Rangers
Chapman (2-0) picked up the win, allowing one hit while striking out one, in Thursday's game against the Rangers.
The Bronx Bombers walked off in the bottom of the ninth to give the closer his second victory of the season, and 20th of his career. Chapman has a 3.00 ERA and ridiculous 32:4 K:BB through 21 innings this season.

Athletics' Zach Neal: Gets optioned to Nashville
Neal was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.
Neal spent about three weeks with the A's after being called up June 10, and has accumulated a 1-1 record with an 8.04 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP in 15.2 innings of work for the club this season. He will go back down to Nashville, where he has pitched superbly so far in 2016, amassing a 6-1 record with a 2.83 ERA during 47.2 innings. In addition to Neal going back to Nashville, pitchers Daniel Coulombe and Andrew Triggs were promoted to the major league club, as Sean Doolittle was placed on the disabled list Thursday.

Danny Coulombe RP | BOS
Athletics' Daniel Coulombe: Recalled from Nashville

The A's freed up two roster spots Thursday by placing Sean Doolittle on the DL and optioning Zach Neal to Triple-A. Coulombe and Andrew Triggs will come up from Nashville to fill out the roster, with Coulombe rejoining the team after being optioned just over a week ago. In 10 appearances for the A's on the year, Coulombe has allowed 13 hits and seven earned runs, while striking out 9, over 13.2 total innings.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Set to make two starts before All-Star break
Fulmer will make two starts before the All-Star break, on Friday and next Wednesday, Chris McCosky of Detroit News reports.
Fulmer's exited his last start in the fourth inning due to dehydration but will not miss significant time as a result. Now on eight days rest, the 23-year-old is set to take the mound Friday against the Rays' Drew Smyly and then next Wednesday against likely Indians' starter Josh Tomlin. The right-hander continues to shine during his rookie campaign, limiting opponents to less than one run in each of his last seven starts while fanning 38 batters over 44.1 frames. He'll get a 12-day break following next Wednesday's start as he'll be the fifth man up in Detroit's rotation after the All-Star break.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Throws off mound
Kelly (groin) threw off of a mound Thursday, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.
Kelly has been on the shelf for three weeks with a groin issue, and Thursday marked the first time he's thrown off a mound since the injury. Barring a setback, Kelly could soon progress to a rehab assignment, which could take place at either Triple-A, where he's currently assigned, or a lower level in the organization.
