  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Notches quality start in no-decision

Lopez allowed three runs on nine hits and struck out three through six innings in a no-decision Friday against the Tigers.

Lopez pounded the zone, as he tossed 73 strikes in 97 pitches, including 13 swinging strikes. The Tigers were able to put the ball in the air repeatedly, however, and the result was nine hits including a solo homer by John Hicks in the second inning. Still, Lopez continues to consistently go deep into games, as he now owns five quality starts in his last six outings. Unfortunately, thanks to the rough state of the White Sox lineup, he has pulled just two wins out of this hot streak. His next outing will come Wednesday against Cleveland.

  • Akeel Morris RP | SF

Angels' Akeel Morris: Returns to majors

Morris was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Morris has appeared in six games for the Angels this season, logging a 6.75 ERA and 2.04 WHIP with a 5:6 K:BB across 9.1 innings of relief. Expect him to serve in low-leverage situations while he's with the big-league team.

  • Angels' Eduardo Paredes: Recalled from Salt Lake

Paredes was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

The Angels made a flurry of roster moves prior to Friday's game and Paredes will help to provide a little extra pitching depth after recently being sent down to the minors. Over eight appearances at the major-league level in 2018, he's logged a 6.97 ERA and 2.03 WHIP.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Chris Martin: Lands on DL

Martin was officially placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

This move was backdated to Thursday so Martin will be eligible to return June 25. In a corresponding move, Jose Trevino was recalled from Double-A Frisco.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Chris Martin: Likely heading toward DL stint

Martin is expecting a stay on the 10-day disabled list after suffering a hamstring injury Wednesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Martin was hurt on the gate of the bullpen while attempting to join a benches-clearing brawl against the Dodgers. Though a disabled list stint appears to be in the works, the Rangers have refrained from making any sort of move until the right-hander can be further evaluated.

  • White Sox's Gregory Infante: DFA'd by White Sox

The White Sox designated Infante for assignment and outrighted him to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Infante has been at Triple-A since the end of April, and the move effectively just removes him from the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old has struggled for both the White Sox and Knights in 2018, with eight runs allowed over nine innings in the majors and 14 runs allowed over 18 innings at Triple-A.

  • Jason Adam RP | SD

Royals' Jason Adam: Optioned to Omaha

Adam was sent down to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Adam allowed a home run during each of his past two outings, raising his ERA to 4.70 in 15.1 innings of relief. His FIP of 7.37 suggests that he's been pretty lucky that he hasn't given up more runs, and the Royals finally elected to make a change in their bullpen with Brandon Maurer joining the club in a corresponding move.

  • Royals' Brandon Maurer: Contract selected from minors

Maurer was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Maurer will head back to the big leagues after being designated for assignment in early May. Since then, the 27-year-old has been finding a groove on the rubber, posting 10 straight scoreless outings with a 10:4 K:BB across 11 innings of relief. Expect him to work out of low-leverage situations for the time being. In a corresponding move, the Royals optioned Jason Adam to the minors.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Orioles' Tanner Scott: Recalled from Norfolk

Scott was called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Scott will rejoin the Orioles' bullpen, where he's posted a 4.96 ERA and a 23:6 K:BB across 16.1 innings in 13 appearances this season. The left-hander will continue to bounce back and forth between Norfolk and Baltimore throughout the course of the 2018 campaign.

  • Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Called up for big-league debut

Loaisiga was called up as expected Friday and will start against the Rays.

Loaisiga began the year with High-A Tampa and has made just six starts above that level, but his performances this season have been impressive, with a 3.00 ERA and a 58:4 K:BB split between Tampa and Double-A Trenton. He'll take the hill opposite Nathan Eovaldi on Friday.
