Ken Giles RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Picks up 19th save
Giles picked up his 19th save of the season Friday against the Marlins, allowing one hit and one walk across a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.
Giles worked around a leadoff single and a walk to convert his seventh save opportunity of August. The 27-year-old has struggled mightily at times, but he's struck out more than a batter per inning (9.7 K/9) and is a perfect 19-for-19 in save opportunities on the year.

Brad Hand RP | ATL
Indians' Brad Hand: Secures 31st save
Hand picked up his 31st save of the season Friday against the Rays, striking out one across a perfect ninth inning.
Hand needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to secure his second save in as many days. The left-hander has been lights out since joining the Indians from the Padres via trade July 19, converting all six of his save chances while compiling a 1.24 ERA and 24:7 K:BB across 17.2 innings for Cleveland.

Twins' Matt Belisle: Tosses another live BP session
Belisle (knee) threw another live batting practice session, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Belisle said everything went well during his third live BP session. The reliever, who has been out since Aug. 7 with sore cartilage in his knee, is on track to be activated in early September.

Daniel Norris RP | CLE
Tigers' Daniel Norris: To start Saturday against Yankees
Norris (groin) will be activated from the 60-day DL ahead of Saturday's start versus the Yankees, Lynn G. Henning of the Detroit News reports.
Manager Ron Gardenhire hinted at the southpaw's return earlier this week and he will indeed rejoin the Tigers' rotation after spending the past four months on the disabled list with a groin injury. During five appearances (two starts) with the team this year, Norris has logged a 5.87 ERA and 1.63 WHIP with 18 strikeouts in 15.1 innings.

Connor Sadzeck RP | MIN
Rangers' Connor Sadzeck: Recalled from minors
Sadzeck was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
Sadzeck will join the Rangers' bullpen to take the place of Cody Gearrin, who was dealt to Oakland on Friday afternoon. Across 38 innings of work with Round Rock this year, Sadzeck has logged a 4.03 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 43:16 K:BB. He will likely be deployed in low-leverage spots during his first taste of the big leagues.

Cory Gearrin RP | NYY
Athletics' Cory Gearrin: Heading to Oakland
Gearrin was traded from the Rangers to the Athletics on Friday in exchange for minor-league pitchers Abdiel Mendoza and Teodoro Ortega.
Gearrin was acquired by the Rangers from the Giants in early July and has since posted a 2.53 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over 21.1 innings. The Athletics' stacked bullpen gains another quality arm, as Gearrin is likely to slide into a middle-relief role.

Chris Devenski RP | NYM
Astros' Chris Devenski: Makes first appearance off DL
Devenski allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out two over two innings in Thursday's loss to the Angels.
Devenski made his first appearance since being activated off the disabled list. The right-hander missed the last month due to a hamstring injury.

Dellin Betances RP | LAD
Yankees' Dellin Betances: Allows two homers, blows save against Tigers
Betances (4-4) blew the save and took the loss Thursday against the Tigers, allowing three runs on a walk and a pair of home runs. He struck out three.
After retiring the first batter he faced, Betances issued a walk and then served up home runs to Victor Martinez and Niko Goodrum -- players slugging .352 and .425, respectively. Betances has been brilliant on the whole this season and has a 27:2 K:BB in 14.1 innings since the All-Star break, but this hiccup could result in manager Aaron Boone turning to David Robertson the next time the matchups call for a right-hander in the ninth.

Brad Hand RP | ATL
Indians' Brad Hand: Notches save despite rocky outing
Hand allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out three in the ninth inning of Thursday's game against the Twins as he collected the save.
Hand surrendered a solo homer to begin the ninth frame, and after allowing the tying run to the plate, he managed to fan the final two batters on eight pitches. The 28-year-old has given up just three earned runs in 16 appearances (16.2 innings) since being traded from the Padres to the Indians on July 19.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Unlikely to return in 2018
Manager Doug Melvin stated that Manaea (shoulder) has less than a 50 percent chance to pitch again this season, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Manaea was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendinitis Tuesday, and although he remains without a clear timetable for a return, it seems unlikely he'll toe the rubber again in 2018. If this is the case, he'll finish the season with a 3.59 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 108 strikeouts over 160.2 innings.
