Connor Sadzeck RP | MIN
Mariners' Connor Sadzeck: Added to 25-man roster
Sadzeck was added to the 25-man roster Wednesday and will join the team in Chicago prior to the start of a three-game series against the White Sox on Friday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Sadzeck was acquired in a trade with the Rangers on Monday, and with the Mariners looking to stock up on as many late-inning options as possible in the wake of Hunter Strickland's (lat) extended absence, he'll be thrust right into action. The 27-year-old's fastball consistently sits in the mid-to-high 90s. However, Sadzeck has also had trouble locating against big-league bats thus far, following up a 10.6 BB/9 in 13 appearances with the Rangers last season with eight walks over 8.1 Cactus League frames this spring.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Earns second save
Giles struck out both the batters he faced to earn his second save of the season Wednesday against the Orioles.
Giles was called into the game to record the final two outs after Daniel Hudson surrendered three earned runs to begin the ninth inning. Giles had no trouble sealing the win, needing just nine pitches to whiff both batters he faced. It was his fourth appearance of the season, and through 3.2 innings he has not allowed a run while striking out seven.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: No-decision in short outing
Loaisiga didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over four innings while striking out four.
The right-hander was effective while he was on the mound, but a limited pitch count -- he threw 70 pitches, 41 for strikes -- kept him from making a bigger impact. Loaisiga will make at least one more start while the Yankees wait for CC Sabathia (knee/chest) to rejoin the rotation, but if he has a restricted workload again, he'll be a largely unappealing fantasy option.

Trevor May RP | ATH
Twins' Trevor May: Picks up first win
May (1-0) recorded the win in Wednesday's 7-6 victory over the Royals, allowing one hit in 1.2 innings of relief.
Entering the game to begin the eighth inning and the score tied 6-6, the right-hander pitched effectively but gave way to Blake Parker for a one-out save after the Twins took the lead in the top of the ninth. May seems to be manager Rocco Baldelli's top choice for a multi-inning high-leverage role, which could limit his save chances while getting him a few more wins over the course of the season.

Jose Alvarado RP | PHI
Rays' Jose Alvarado: Strikes out side
Alvarado pitched a scoreless eighth inning, striking out the side, in a 1-0 loss to the Rockies on Wednesday.
Alvarado has been excellent to open the year. In four appearances, he's allowed only three baserunners and posted eight strikeouts with two saves in four innings. But in each of his last two outings, he pitched in the eighth inning. A couple games ago, Alvarado threw in the eighth during a lopsided win, and Wednesday, he took the mound in the eighth during a 0-0 game. It's not the ideal, traditional-closer usage, but Alvarado is pretty clearly the primary option for saves in Tampa Bay.

Nick Rumbelow RP | SEA
Mariners' Nick Rumbelow: Optioned to Triple-A
Rumbelow was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Rumbelow has one save in his three appearances but has also allowed four runs in just 1.1 innings of work. As a mediocre reliever with options, he'll likely bounce between Seattle and Tacoma for much of the season. The move clears room on the 25-man roster for Connor Sadzeck, who was acquired in a trade with Texas on Monday.

Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL
White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Started pushed back by rain
Lopez's next start will come Friday against the Mariners instead of Thursday, as Thursday's game has already been postponed due to rain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
The two teams had an off day in the schedule specifically for this purpose, so the White Sox won't have to do anything to change up their rotation. Lopez will be looking to bounce back from a poor start in which he allowed four runs in four innings Saturday against the Royals.

Lou Trivino RP | PHI
Athletics' Lou Trivino: Excelling in early going
Trivino earned his third hold in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday, firing a scoreless eighth inning in which he recorded a strikeout.
Trivino has yet to allow an earned run and has yielded just a single hit and walk apiece across six dominant innings over six appearances. The 27-year-old's workload figures to remain elevated, given both his effectiveness and the fact he already logged 74 innings over 69 appearances in his rookie 2018 campaign.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Promotion official
The Yankees recalled Loaisiga from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to his scheduled start Wednesday against the Tigers, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.
The Yankees had already indicated when spring training ended that Loaisiga would open the season as the team's fifth starter, so the transaction merely confirms what was already known. Loaisiga should get two turns through the rotation but could be at risk of heading back to the minors shortly thereafter with CC Sabathia (knee/chest) on track to return from the 10-day injured list around mid-April.

Taylor Rogers RP | MIN
Twins' Taylor Rogers: Used in eighth inning
Rogers gave up a run in 1.2 innings in Tuesday's win over Kansas City. He was used in the eighth and ninth innings when the game was tied.
Rogers gave up a home run and three hits with a walk and a strikeout. It wasn't a dominating performance, but he kept the Twins in the game, which they later won in an extra inning. After Rogers got Minnesota's first save, the Twins used Blake Parker in the 10th inning to close this game. Minnesota looks set to use multiple pitchers to close games based on matchups, though a more distinct pattern could emerge.
