Pagan allowed a solo home run while striking out one in an inning of relief Friday, recording his 10th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Mariners.

The right-hander entered the contest with a three-run lead, and he'll be thankful he had the cushion after getting taken deep by Ryan Court. Pagan has been no stranger to making things interesting, allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks over his last 10.1 innings. The 28-year-old has limited the damage well this season with a 2.06 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over 48 innings.

Beeks tossed 3.2 innings Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out four. He did not factor into the decision in a 5-3 win over the Mariners.

Beeks started for only the second time this season, but he wasn't able to complete four innings in the appearance. He allowed RBI singles to Domingo Santana in the third inning and Ryan Court in the fourth. The 26-year-old has a 3.71 ERA and a 65:30 K:BB in 80 innings across 24 games this season. Beeks owns a 5-1 record and is next expected to pitch in an interleague matchup versus the Padres on Wednesday.

Barria (4-6) took the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits while striking out three over five-plus innings Friday against the Red Sox.

Barria was spotted a three-run lead in the first inning, but he'd squander it shortly afterwards, giving up one run in the first, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and another in the sixth. The 23-year-old right-hander owns an unattractive 6.62 ERA and 1.49 WHIP with a 51:16 K:BB over 51.2 innings this year.

Johnson allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over 2.2 innings Friday night against the Angels. He didn't factor into the decision.

Johnson surrendered a three-run homer in the first inning, and he failed to make it out of the third after firing 28 of 50 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old is currently filling in for David Price (wrist) in the rotation, though he'll likely need to work deeper into the contest during his next start if he wishes to remain a starter.

Green will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Green will toss the first inning or two before making way for a primary pitcher. The Yankees have yet to disclose who will eat up the bulk of the innings Saturday.

Jimenez notched the save Friday night against the Royals after recording the final out.

Jimenez entered the contest with two outs in the top of the ninth in a three-run ballgame, and he managed to retire the final batter to preserve a 5-2 victory. It was his first save chance since Shane Greene was dealt to the Braves, and Jimenez figures to have the first shot at locking up the Tigers' closer role for the remainder of the season.

Stewart will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Gregor Chisholm of the Toronto Star reports.

Stewart will replace Lourdes Gurriel, who's headed to the 10-day injured list after suffering a quadriceps strain Thursday night. The right-hander owns a 9.00 ERA with six strikeouts over eight innings this season in the majors.

Adams (lat) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Adams has been throwing from 140 feet within the last week, and he's finally been given the green light to toss a side session. He's been on the shelf since July 6 with a Grade 1 shoulder strain, so he'll likely need to throw a bullpen or two before progressing to a sim game or live batting practice.

Merryweather (elbow) remains in a rest period as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, Alexis Brudnicki of MLB.com repots.

He had to pause his rehab assignment in late July due to fatigue and, after following up with Dr. Keith Meister, Merryweather will remain shut down for the time being.

Pressly (knee) was activated off the 10-day injured list Friday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pressly made a rehab appearance with Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday, clearing the way for his return from the injured list. The 20-year-old has a 2.03 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 55:8 K:BB over 44.1 innings and figures to slide back into a high-leverage role for the Astros.
