Lopez (1-2) allowed three hits and a walk while striking out two across five innings to earn the win Saturday against the Tigers.

Lopez was handed 12 runs of support in the five innings he threw, though he took care of the Tigers lineup as well. He allowed only one extra-base hit, also generating 15 called strikes and 10 swinging strikes across 75 total pitches. This was Lopez's longest and most successful outing of the season and lowered his ERA to 5.52 across 14.2 total frames. He's projected to draw his next start Friday at Cincinnati.

Fulmer (0-2) allowed five earned runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out one across 2.2 innings to take the loss Saturday against the White Sox.

Fulmer struggled immediately, surrendering three runs in the opening frame. He turned in a scoreless second inning before being chased from the game after giving up two additional runs in the third. Fulmer has struggled for the majority of the season, as he's never gotten more than nine outs in an outing and has allowed at least three runs in five of his eight appearances. He's projected to make his next appearance Friday against Cleveland.

Stiever will be called up from the alternate training site to start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 23-year-old has never pitched above the High-A level, but he'll join the White Sox on Sunday to make his major-league debut against the Tigers. It's likely to be a spot start for Stiever, who had a 3.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 154:27 K:BB over 145 innings last year in the minors.

Montero struck out one in a perfect seventh inning to record the save in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Athletics.

The right-hander threw eight of his 10 pitches for strikes and made quick work of Oakland to close out the matinee. Montero has converted all eight of his save chances and has a 2.13 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB across 12.2 innings this season.

Quijada was optioned to the Angels' alternate training site Saturday.

Quijada has made six relief appearances this season, allowing three runs in 3.2 innings. He'll make way on the roster for David Fletcher, who will return from a sprained ankle in a corresponding move.

Taylor (elbow) is "fine" and expects to throw off a mound over the weekend, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Manager Dusty Baker provided an encouraging update regarding Taylor's status Saturday and said that he could return during the team's upcoming homestand. The southpaw is first eligible to come off the injured list Wednesday, and it sounds as though he's set to have a fairly brief absence.

Taylor's shoulder injury, which is now being called tendinitis rather than inflammation, isn't considered too serious, and he's expected to return before the end of the year, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Taylor will be eligible to return from the injured list Friday. Whether or not he'll be back right away remains to be seen, but he should have time to make at least another appearance or two.

Swanson (forearm) continues to throw at the Mariners' alternate training site in Tacoma with an eye on returning before the end of the season, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Swanson was scheduled to throw in an intrasquad game Friday that was ultimately cancelled due to poor air quality stemming from wildfires on the West Coast. Swanson has been on the injured list since Aug. 20, and he now has just over two weeks of time remaining to get some regular-season action in.

Loaisiga (undisclosed) threw a bullpen session Friday and is on track to be activated Tuesday, Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated reports.

The nature of Loaisiga's issue has not been disclosed, though manager Aaron Boone has clarified that it is not related to COVID-19. Assuming Loasiga's bullpen went well Friday, he'll toss another Sunday and could then be activated off the injured list before the team's critical three-game series against Toronto that begins Tuesday.

Garcia (0-2) was roughed up Friday, allowing four runs on a hit and three walks without recording an out in the a 10-6 loss to Oakland.

Garcia was yanked immediately after a Matt Olson grand slam in the first inning. He only tossed eight of his 23 pitches for strikes. Typically a reliever, Garcia was making just his second start of the season in the opener role. He'll carry an 8.59 ERA into his next appearance.
